bluesti
Last week I was driving, and it sounded like all of the sudden the drivers side sound wasn't working... I thought I was going crazy, and went to the balance screen, and selected balance towards the left, and I could hear sound on the drivers side speakers, it was just REALLY quiet. Today it happened again! This time, the passenger side went quiet... so I adjusted the balance "+6" to the right, and it sounds normal again! Now I have to listen to it +6 to the right, and at volume 48 instead of 40 where I used to listen to it to be full volume. What the hell is going on?
bluesti
GGRRRR!!!! Doing it more and more, now.... One day it will be the left side quiet, then the next day, the right... Maybe I need to send it in?
ChrisK
Have you performed any resets on the unit?
HiFiSi
Check all your connections behind the unit as well as at the speakers. Also, are you using any kind of factory or aftermarket amplifier(s)?
bluesti
It's an all-factory stereo, un-amplified... I'll try the master reset later...
bluesti
So... here's what I've found... When I use the "CD" source, everything is FINE! Speakers sound great, nice and even. As soon as I switch to the iPod, it's horrible! Balance is off, sound is distorted, and it gets worse and worse as time is going by... When is the damn update!!!! flinkazoid
Sounds like wiring
bluesti
Could it be a bad ipod cable? Like I said, every source EXCEPT ipod plays crystal clear! Then sometimes the ipod will sound ok, and slowly get worse and worse as I'm listening. The connections are all tight on the ipod cable. UUGHHH!!!!
HiFiSi
If you have access to another ipod, you might want to try hooking that up and giving it a test. Also, try turning off the "soundcheck" setting and any EQ setting on the ipod if either of them are on.
bluesti
What's the soundcheck setting?
bigPHIL18
What's the soundcheck setting? Like he said... its a setting on the ipod. Keeps the songs at around hte same volume level. So one isnt significantly louder.
bluesti
Nope... nothing works... I've tried 3 iPods now... they all do the same thing. Do you think it could be the cable? Everything else is flawless! As soon as I switch to Ipod, it's distorted, and the balance is all screwed up... :(
HiFiSi
If you've tried 3 different ipods and they all do the same thing, chances are the cable's faulty.
Kebo72
I'm having the same problem. Mine started after I installed the update for the 900BT. Exact same issues!
bluesti
Is yours just on the ipod source too? It's so random, and inconsistent, it's hard to troubleshoot...
