Prlauren Posted September 29, 2008 Report Share Posted September 29, 2008 Sorry If this is a stupid question or the answer is on this site somewhere.....but I can't find it....I recently purchased an 80 gig drive and have the Z3 info installed on it. If I take my hardrive out (Factory Hard drive) and install the new one (Z3) 80GIG, will my Factory hard drive lock If I try to reinstall the factory one back into the radio??? IF so what would I need to do to the factory Hard drive to use it as a back up if all else fails with the upgrade, or if I want to use the factory as a back up? Prlauren Posted September 30, 2008 Author Report Share Posted September 30, 2008 So If my radio is a z2 and I pull out my factory Hard drive and install a hard drive containing the z3 software on it, and for any reason the Z3 software don't work on the secondary drive.I could then install the factory drive right back in and the factory one should work fine? garrettoomey Posted September 18, 2009 Report Share Posted September 18, 2009 Z1/Z2/Z3 all have the same map upgrade dvd. Pioneer has just posted the CNDV-900HD for sale on their website (2009 update, newer than the 2008 Z3 maps). I have already ordered it, and will test it for compatability with upgraded/stock hard drives that used the Z3 image. I'll post results when available.
