BorisM
For iPOD, it should. For USB or SD sources, no.
Newman
For iPOD, it should. For USB or SD sources, no. according to the manual and according to our Pioneer rep and according to my recent attempts to try this: the answer is no. you can only choose artist, album, or genre with VR. CatchMeIfYouCan631
Nope. Tried it, doesn't work, and my VC's work great.
bwolfe
Since I don't really use the Genre tab on my iTunes, I put the name of the song there. Then I can ask the HU to play genre "song title" and it will.

Does the unit ever play the wrong song, or if multiple artists have the same song title, does it bring you to a menu to pick which artist?
geo1378
Ok putting song name where genre is will work but what about 2000 songs, is there a program out there to automatically change it for you. Obviously i am not going to change it for all 2000 songs manually... if anyone knows of a program that can do that post it here... thanks
CatchMeIfYouCan631
There is none. Not worth the effort IMO, especially when it only takes a couple more presses by saying "Show the artist ______"
skicrave
If you're on a Mac you can pickup a Applescript from this site that will copy any ID3 data wherever you would like it.
bwolfe
I have 19,000 songs and I didn't do it for every song. I just went through and the ones I thought I would use it on, I did, which amounted to about 600 of them.
