hchavez
When i start my car i get a pop in my sub. Does any one know what might cause this?
jrdiesel
Bad ground at the amp. Bad amp. Usually.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
Re check your amp ground and all other connection. If you can get a hold of an Ohm meter you can check the resistance level of each possible ground. Also what equipment do you have? amp/sub I mean, and how do you have them wired? 2Ohm, 4Ohm, etc.
gstylez
what kind of car is it? when we install aftermarket decks in some ford trucks with factory subs.. we have to put a 1k resistor on the amp turn on wire... and that eliminates the sub woofer pop when radio turns on... not sure if that's the same problem you have
rderango
My sub woofer pops every turn on the volume knob. Every clicking twist on the knob, the woofer makes a faint pop. Does ne one else's do that.

I have a Ford Sub.

CatchMeIfYouCan631
Put a 1000Ohm resistor on the Remote wire.
stereodan
Most Fords 2003 and up (the exceptions are e few THX systems that use a data signal to turn on the amp) need a resistor on the amp turn on line to eliminate sub pop. Some info on resister size is incorrect. It should be between 3.5k and 5k. I am a ford specialist and do this all the time it works 100% every time. The reason for the resistor is the factory amp uses a 5 to 7 volt turn on signal but the Aftermarket radio outputs a 12 volt turn on signal. The resistor drops the 12 volts down to a usable voltage that won't cause a pop.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
It should be between 3.5k and 5k. Is it really that big of a resistor? I put the F in an 06 Shaker 500 stang and used a 1k Ohm resistor, worked fine.
superjet
Actually, it does not drop the voltage down. All it is doing is limiting current. A voltage dividing network will cut the voltage in half.
spider2k
i use a 3.9 every time as its whats on hand. and yes it does change the voltage.
