Did you use winzip to unzip?
bonj87
i used XP's explorer to extract it. XP can open and extract zip files natively. Ive never had an issue doing that in the past 5 years.
prodigeboe
only thing i can thing of is try winzip? again use the evaluation copy. I;m not sure what it could be, I'm just telling you everything that worked for me
bonj87
thanks. i used winrar. i got the dvd made. i went to my avic. put it in. the upgrade went sucessfully. BUT in navi mode, i cannot set my region, it shows up as 0. so i cant do POI searches.
prodigeboe
hurmph, that didn't happen to me. Did you try turning it off and then back on? I know when i put my disc back in, i had to re set my region. I'm sure you tried hitting the region button. I have a n3, so i'm not quite sure how it looks on your unit. bonj87
i finally downloaded the files and burned my disk. put it in, the upgrade looked like it went fine. then, i tried to do a POI search to see if it was any better.. I cant set my region! the USA map is set at 0, and when i press it, it just sets me back at the main map. after doing that oh.. about 20 times in frustration and say 'uhh???'.. the D3 starts freakin out at me, and now it would suddenly reboot while driving and give me a black screen while the radio is playin. Once i got the inappropriate disk message and then it FINALLY mapped me to my destination, but now my POI search buttons, etc are all greyed out. am i fubared?? prodigeboe
Again, when i had a partially working upgrade disc, the exact same thing happened on my N3. it turned out my upgrade disc did not burn correctly. Did you try burning with Nero 7, AND verifying the files after it burned? I would'nt get too worried yet, you can always reset the radio and start over with your old map disc (not quite sure how on a d3, but i'm pretty sure it can be done. upgrading to cndv 80 was a lot more difficult than upgrading to cndv 70, atleast for me, but after using about 8 discs, i finally got it to work. bonj87
i used imageburn to make my disc.
komobu
Just successfully made the east disk first try. Used a Memorex dual layer disk and "Burnaware free" to create it.
