Has anyone found a way to change the arrow graphic?

I would like to replace the arrow graphic that displays your current position on the map. Has anyone found a way to replace it?

Hahahah, thanks. You wouldn't think that this would be so tough. If you can make custom backgrounds, why not custom arrows? The image (.bmp, .pim...?) has to be in there somewhere. Oh well...

Because there has to be a way to get into the file system, and since Pioneer hasn't issued any firmware updates for the D-Series, there hasn't been a chance to exploit one of their mistakes (like we did with the F-Series).

Unlike the F-series, the D-series are completely proprietary. Proprietary OS, rare CPU, I don't even think they use a file system at all. I think everything, bitmaps and all code, are embedded into the main program file.

Little buggers, it's like I'm being punished for getting in on the ground floor. How am I supposed to navigate with just an arrow, instead of a spaceship!?!?

look i think you might be able to do this. but it would require you to know and getting a copy of the image files. i did this with my ipod touch and made a icon with my wifes face on it. so if there is a will there is a way.

if the arrows are on the disks then you should be able to pull them off of a downloaded maps from the torrent. find the files and then edit them with photo shop but that is only if they are on the maps.

if there on the d3 then you would need to find a way to hack the unit its self and pull the info off of it. hope that idea's help. look at replacing the ipod touch icons with your own. then you would know what i am talking about. they would have to be the same file name and only thing done was the pic was changed the colors.

^ the difference is that with the D3 there is no way to access the system icons stored on the internal memory of the unit, unlike with the F-series radios and your ipod.

The image files are on the discs, but they are not a recognizable image format. They're proprietary.
