AvicUserBR
I searched ipod no sound and didn't really get any results. I just installed a AVIC-F90BT over the weekend. I have sound from Sirius, AM, FM, CD, DVD. I plug in my iPod and I get a beep from the iPod. It shows up in the list of sources and the iPod shows Pioneer on the screen. I can access the playlists, the songs, and etc. It shows to be playing but I don't have any sound. I have tried with an early 2 or 3G ipod nano and a iPhone 3G, and a 1G ipod touch. No luck with any of them.
sombutsi
have you going to Setting->AV setting and change EXT1 to iPod?
djkid
Have you changed your AV1 settings to Ipod?
AvicUserBR
Yeah the av1 is set to iPod. Its really odd. It shows album art and all and shows its playing but no sound. I thought maybe it was just an iPhone problem so I tried 2 other iPods and the same problem.
Newman
that is the exact problem you would have if the AV1 source is not set to iPod. everything will work except the audio. if your AV1 is definitely set to iPod then I am not sure what else to suggest. AvicUserBR
It is definitely set to iPod. I have double checked it several times. I've even taken it off of iPod and turned it back to iPod. I talked to Pioneer and they told me to send the unit back. I bought it on eBay so obviously thats not an option. Looks like I'm stuck going through the guy I bought it from. If the cable was bad would it still show the iPod? If not I might buy one from Best Buy and try that before pulling the unit and shipping it off to who knows where.

Try and different cable and hopefully that will solve it for you.
AvicUserBR
I just placed an order for one at Best Buy online for in store pickup. If that doesn't work I guess the only option is to try to send in under warranty?
skicrave
If you have the option, buy Apple's Composite A/V cable kit. It's better quality, works exactly the same, includes a wall adapter for charging and costs less.
AvicUserBR
I just got back. I tried a new Pioneer cable and a new Apple cable and both were a no go. I guess I'll wait until Christmas to try to send the unit in. I can still buy squaretrade warranty. Is that recommended?
skicrave
Neither one worked, and you're sure the RCA's are connected correctly on the back of the headunit? Plug a standard 1/8" -> RCA cable into your RCA connections, change the A/V input to Aux and try again. Do you get sound doing that?
Big Top Gt
I've got an AVIC Z1 in my Mustang and had this problem. It turned out I had the in and out wires reversed. It's worth looking at.
AvicUserBR
I'm going to pull everything out tomorrow and double check again. It took me and my dad both to get all the wiring in the dash with all the PAC modules needed to work on my vehicle. I hope I can get it back in without an extra set of hands. I'll update when I get it figured out. Thanks for all the help guys.

AvicUserBR
Mine wasn't plugged into the RCA's correctly. My dad helped and he obviously didn't know what he was doing even though he has been working on cars for 40 years LOL.
