scuba335
I cannot find specific instructions to enable obex on my motorola e815 (verizon). I am familiar with seem editing. Just want to be sure the edits are the correct ones. There are so many out there. Thanks
ducatiboy
I believe that this is the "best" resource for reliable information on the V710 and E815 hacking: http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/e815seem.html

vigil
Instead of starting a new topic I'll bring this one up again. Anybody out there ever successfully hack a Verizon based Motorola E815 to enable OBEX data transfers and be able to load your contacts into the Z1? I finished the hack per the Howardforums.com site, edited the seem as directed to enable the OBEX data transfers but still no go. I saw some other forum posts that mention a menu option for the contacts entered on the phone that should show something along the lines of "Send" to send the contact to the receiving device (Z1 in this case) but there is no option available like that for me pre or post seem hacking. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Megatron
Well, I've enabled OBEX on my e815, but here's the problem. Most head units(if not all) don't use the OBEX bluetooth profile to send contact lists/calenders. The profile for that is called Object Push Profile (OPP). Do not despair tho... you can always flash your phone with the altell firmware that's on howard forums and then you would have OPP but you have to be a tiny bit savvy with the phone tools. Its not really that hard but you have to be careful not to hose your phone. Another think you could do is buy a prepaid Amp'ed e816 hollywood (basically our phone but in a cool black housing) flash it with the Bell Mobility e815 flash and then activate it on verizons network via their online ESN changer ;) Then you'd have the fully unlocked phone you always wanted and Java games :). Well now that I got that out of the way. I plan on buying the avic-z1 for my mustang after december is over(had to buy xmas gifts). If I can't get the contact list to sync with just OBEX, I'mma go ahead and just do the Altell flash to get OPP and see if it will work. I'm sure that's gonna be the case tho.
