avicnewbie
Hi guys, I'm hoping someone here's had a similar problem and can help me out. After installing my f-90bt and a successful test boot, a couple of hours later, my avic booted up and stopped displaying any words . The icons are there, but any warning boxes that popped up are empty. The settings button, everything in there, and the phone button are all empty. I can't even maneuver through to fiddle with settings b/c I have no clue what I'm changing. Any ideas?!? Thanks!
CatchMeIfYouCan631
What the hell did you do in test mode? Things like that do not just 'happen'. There's no need to fiddle with settings, as no setting in the unit will turn off the text. Go back in test mode and undo any changes you made.
CamelTowing
WTF did you change? Would probably help diagnose your problem to know what you were trying to do when you made that happen
terron
better hope you backed your data.zip up before modding
carlsbad0331
That makes for a hell of a security feature! Just memorize what all the buttons said!

avicnewbie
Crap. From the responses, it looks like I found a totally new problem. I didn't do any modding and wasn't ever in test mode. I hooked everything up, booted it to see if it worked properly (it did), then closed my dashboard back up, and on the next boot up, it ended up like that. Initial thought was that some file somehow got corrupt (all the functions work, I just can't read anything) so I'm going to try a reinstall of the 2.0 update. I read some other post that a fresh install could help clear up some odd problems. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks for the inputs though.
BorisM
Update might work. Since you are missing all text, even form the AVIC shell, some RES files probably got messed up. If they are in the update, it should help.

avicnewbie
Thanks for all your help guys. There's definitely enough info on these forums to help me work my way around all these landmines. I did a fresh update described in another thread, and voila! I can see text!!! Still not entirely sure what happened, but it looks like all is good for now.
nebnosnevel
I'm having the same exact issue. I've never even boooted into test mode or messed it at all. So a reinstall of the update fixes it?
