VW guys with CAN get the Connect2 Adapter

I so i bought one of these for my nice new Tiguan. It is much cheaper then the PAC stuff and has a lot less wires. the VSS reverse and brake wires were right there. If you have steering wheel controls you get volume source and seek up and down.

those would be the 2 items that you need. the only thing it can not do yet is the bluetooth through the control on the steering wheel.

While on the subject, did you retain same ignition behavior as stock where Avic stays on until you pull the key out?

Yup. it really made the install simple. i had to cut the ends off because i dont have the euro iso connectors. little solder fixed that though. no programming it just works

Yup. I did that last week. Cost me about $75US shipped to my door. Works perfectly, except that the steering wheel controls are a little slow to respond.

Just got mine delivered! What a nightmare it looks.

 

I have 2 parts to it. The big chunky cable and the can-bus bit.

 

I guess i plug the can-bus bit into the big cable, But i still need to use the quadlock - ISO adapter for the unit.

And then i guess i have to put the cables from the pioneer loom into the bullit connectors.

 

Does this sound right?

take a picture of what you have and i can explain it. did you get the thing with the steering wheel controls and the wires for VSS and such

wish I saw this before I got mine istalled a couple weeks ago. I ended up getting all the PAC stuff. but I'm very happy with it.

 

Programmed my volume buttons up and down and the Mute/Phone button I have doing my Track up/down. never really used the mute button.

Is the rear power connector the same for US and European versions of the AVIC-F series?

I dont have the steering controls in the car so no need for that.

Car is a 58 Polo

The thick cable didnt come with any instructions and the can-bus only came with a bit of paper saying what colours are what.

 

I think i need to unplug the can-bus box and connect it into the big loom.

Then i need to connect the Ignition, Illumiation, Speed sensor and reverse wires from the pioneer loom to the red bulit connectors on the big loom.

No need for the park brake as ive grounded that.

 

Oh, The thick loom seems to have blue end caps on the terminals that connect to the car, Whats this about?! How the bloody hell am i meant to connect it?

one part goes into the car the other side prolly has to be cut unless you can get a connector to solder to the harness to make it easier. the wires should be labeled.
