Although I'am not 100% sure, there seems to be a relation with radio station presets and TMC. My 9110 wouldn't had no TMC at all untill I made a selection of presets of radio stations with TMC present. So you might want to try entering a preset station that transmits the desired TMC info, and then use the TMC settings option to skip the unwanted (nrk) frequencies. Regards, Skippy2

I have had to replace my 900BT (was affected by the ipod issue and some jerk stole the unit - and the problem BTW) recently. The new unit is a 9110BT (the 910BT with VW facia plate) and the problem is gone. Biggest difference with the USB connection compared to the 900: the USB is a long cable permanently attached to the unit (no chassis-female USB connector on the back of the unit anymore). Could this be Pioneer concluded that the ipod issue is often related to the chassis connector?

From the ISO 10487 Car radio connector standard : Pin 2 - mute control - grounded by external components to mute the radio, often used when a mobile telephone is fitted to the car. Once you disconnected the mute from ground, the radio shoulkd play normal volume again and when you ground the PB wire (or pull the parking brake) you should be able to enter the the pass... Your problem is with the (required for most input) handbrake ON signal, so why mess around with the mute signal? The handbrake on situation is on the can bus interface and 'translated' in the little box in the harness to a hard ground - handbrake on- or 12 Volts - handbrake off-, to the light green wire from the can interface to the avic. I have the same AVIC in my VW and all I did was cut the light green cable, insulate the wire coming from the can interface and grounding the part going to the AVIC. Getting all satellites to have a perfect SNR would indicate a serious software problem. Even is you assume that all sats are exactly similar in build (antenna, radiated power etc.) and the field of view of your antenna is completely free, which they both are not, they are on different distances to the receiver and since SNR decreases with increasing distance between transmitter and receiver, you should see differances. Without going into too much detail... yes, it is important in antenna design to define a ground plane. On the other hand.. some GPS antenna have a build in magnet to prevent it from moving around. I don't know if the Pioneer antenna has a magnetic base BTW, I didn't install the unit myself. So suppose this antenna needs a metal plane to have optimal performance. The minimal size does matter, larger metal sheets normally have positive or no influence. Do you have to use the supplied sheet? If the antenna amplifier worked OK before the F90BT install, have a look at the connectors... FAKRA connectors can easily (OK, what is easy, you need to put some pressure on it) be connected with the centra pin bent, so effectivily not connecting at all. Change the connection of the red wire to where the yellow is (and vice versa), I don't have the 7010 manual, but my F900BT installation manual has a note on it on page 10....

First of all: Check with your car dealer if your car has a antenna signal pre-amplifier build in (most, if not all, windscreen antenna have). If so, check how the this preamp is powered. You can mount it anyway you like (even upside down on the bottom of the car), but for the best possible position resolution you want your (2 pi omnidirectional, so your 'vision' is limited to half a sphere) antenna to see as my GPS satelites as possible. Look at the sat status (sat reception strenght) with the antenna mounted sidesways, and you will see, that part of the sat's that are theoretically in sight are either not received at all or have a severely degraded signal strength, leading to a bigger positional error.

Resetting error code is possible with (amongst others) VAGCOM and a CAN interface, but won't remove the hardware cause of the error, so it will return upun the next diagnostics run. Make sure that all connectors (specifically to the airbags) are well seated and that you did not tap into the wrong wiring. I am not sure if this alert will auto reset upon the next diag run (system startup) so it might still require a rest with VAGCOM or the dealers CAN soft/hardware.
