The F700BT Doesnt play DVDs?

Recommended Posts

best bet would be to buy the ipod cable, then play movies through the ipod...

.............or, stay at home and watch your DVDs there..............

why stay at home and watch movies on a normal size screen when

you can sit in your car and watch them on a 5 1/2 inch screen

this is also why i bought the 700 i dont have the need to watch dvds in the car

lol it's pretty clear that the ONLY differences between the 900 and 700 is the dvd player and msn direct... If you want to play dvds, you can always rip them to iPod format and play them from your iPod using the iPod connector. Any battery powered DVD player with a RCA-out would work if you wanted to go that route, though.

is there any hacks or anything for it to play dvds?

You can purchase the DVD mechanism for the F900 unit and replace the CD unit in your F700. Its only a few screws and a ribbon cable. Only problem is that the F900 DVD mechanism is $265 from the Pioneer parts store.

If you want to search for the part somewhere else, the part number is: CXK6631

(Note: The same DVD mechanism is used in the Pioneer P4000DVD head unit, so you may be able to pick one of them up used on Ebay for cheap and swap out the mechanism)
