nissanfrontier
hmm, why wouldn't alzip work? I unzipped and zipped up files are you saying this wouldn't work with AVIC?
gnasr74
hmm, why wouldn't alzip work? I unzipped and zipped up files are you saying this wouldn't work with AVIC? it might work but i know that winzip doesn't work and that winrar and 7zip do work. If that program works for you then use it. The data.zip file is originally zipped using 7zip by pioneer, that is why that program definitely works.

BorisM
it might work but i know that winzip doesn't work and that winrar and 7zip do work. If that program works for you then use it. The data.zip file is originally zipped using 7zip by pioneer, that is why that program definitely works. WinZIP works, too. It's just a total pain to use because it will not update a file inside a folder within a ZIP, it will just dump it in the root level... So yeah, you can use WinZIP if you extract everything, edit, then zip up the whole thing. Other software (WinRAR, 7-Zip) is much easier to use.
dpdurst
I found 7zip to work flawlessly each time where Winzip just acted lame and more times than I can count caused issues with the data.zip file not working in the unit. Winrar I think works as good too.
cmh928
best reason is 7Zip is open source and completely free.. besides that, the avic uses 7z.dll to unzip files so compatibility is assured.
