New Pioneer microphone design

Recommended Posts

This looks like the mic on the Parrot "beanforming" bluetooth kits, I've attached a link below. The two mics work together to cut out background noise somehow, I don't know how it works but Parrot is supposed to have the best BT kits on the market. Has Pioneer licensed the Parrot BT technology? I know Kenwood did recently... The Parrot kits with this mic also allow A2DP streaming stereo via bluetooth, that would be pretty cool.

F-series does use Parrot bluetooth kits... not that they worked all that well there, of course...

i just bought a garmin microphone for my f 90 i just installed it yesterday and am hoping to try it out today. the garmin mic is the exact same one that the parrot bt kits use.i think they just repackage the parrot microphone. i also have a newer parrot kit, the mk6100 and it has the dual mic like the pioneer one.

but here's the one i bought for my f90...hopefully it works better!

Parrot's not the only one to do this. It's called an array microphone, and they offer the most amazing noice cancellation anywhere, because they're able to target sounds and only pic up noises coming from directly in front of them. I've been trying to figure out how to set one up with my avic for awhile now, and now I don't have to! I want one of these!

I've used this mic for the PC before, and it really does wonders.
