szinkuti
I had my z3 installed today at a car installation location. the guy calls me and says the radio is no good and the backlight is not working. it was installed in a 2005 audi s4. the guy i bought it from claims it is brand new and in perfect working condition (purchased through paypal)....i pick up the car and take a look at it...under the settins menu under the illumination it says its "off" and i cannot make any changes...has anybody ran into this similar problem or does anybody know if my radio's backlight lcd is toast..i checked the man date and it is feb2008...so might be kinda screwed in getting in replaced through them. Thanks Steve
garrettoomey
The 'illumination' setting in the menu just lets you know if the ILL wire is connected properly to your headlights. It is used to dim the nav screen at night when you turn on your headlights. It has nothing to do with the backlight. It does sound like you have a hardware issue. scottminor
I have this problem too. I have a 2005 H2 and am using the GMOS-01 with the orange wire connected to the orange and white wire. It does not dim.
CaptainInsaneO
I have this problem too. I have a 2005 H2 and am using the GMOS-01 with the orange wire connected to the orange and white wire. It does not dim. Tap your ILL wire to anything that dims when you turn your head lights on. I have mine tapped to my dash clock.
