futuredocwe55
do I still connect the parking break power wire? i know i need to ground the one wire for it and then run another wire off the wiring harness and ground it for my particular model. Am I to assume I still need to wire the parking break power wire or just let it go?

tillithz
dude what are you talking about? power side of what? huh. you just ground the parking break wire of the avic unit. dont touch your parking break wire of the car. there is no power side (+) side of the parking break for the avic. ducatiboy
I think that everyone here is right, just futuredocwe55 using "power side" that is confusing people. That's usually in reference to the car's wiring not the wiring from the Z1, which is what you have to work with. This is only for Z1's made after July 06. Light Green parking brake sense wire (which according to the manual is connected to the "power side of the parking brake switch"). You DO NOT make this connection, as in the instructions but instead you ground the light green parking brake sense wire from the Z1. You do not touch the car's stock parking bake wiring at all. Leave it alone. You are just working with the Z1's wires. You ground the "secret" wire in connector 2. Does this clear it up, or is one more person posting just adding to the confusion. That's about as clear as I can think to word it.
