spontaneous02jg
Upon boot of the unit is still shows the following message CAUTION! System detected improper connection of parking brake lead. Please check your configuration for safety. Please see Operation Manual for more information regarding safe operation. Note, that the bypass DOES work; move yellow mute wire over one space and ground it with the parking brake wire (old news). Anyways, although I am able to watch the DVD while the car is in motion, my concern is if this message is going to affect any other functions in the future. Also, it is a bit annoying; is there a way to remove it?
dawgbone
I think you need to check your bypass... It shouldn't show that message... and your video in motion will probably be blocked off after some time.... Check the settings menu and see if it says parking brake is on at all times... CaptainInsaneO
dawgbone is correct. You can bypass the unit by grounding ONLY the parking break wire, but you will get this error and after awhile you will be locked out again while moving. Should probably check your mute wire. spontaneous02jg
I go to [sETTINGS], [NAVI SETTINGS], [CONNECTION STATUS]. When I put the car in drive, Parking Break says: ON. Still not sure whey the message is coming on.
CaptainInsaneO
If the parking break wire is grounded it will say it's ON, regardless of whether the mute wire is grounded. The mute wire's purpose is to prevent the unit from locking you out again, which sometimes takes awhile.
spontaneous02jg
I needed to connect the VSS wire anyways, so after popping it open again and removing the harness, I realized that the mute pin was not pushed in all the way into the harness. I put a flashlight up to the harness (it was dark) and saw the shadow of the pin. It was about 3/4 of the way in. I pushed it all the way in and now the message is gone.
