i installed my avic d3 yesterday and it was working fine. I unhooked the harness to clean up some wiring, and when I hooked it back up, the nav says I am in NY (I am actually in NH).

This actually happened yesterday but it resolved itself. Is there anyway to force a recalculation of current location?

Well, I am now back in Paris! after working for a couple of days, I thought it was working, but it has now gone back to saying i'm in paris, so looks like the unit itself, is there any way of re-flashing/updating the software or is the sat nav side effectively dead?

GTnumber2, tried your suggestion, and it seemed to work, but a few minutes later I am back in Paris again.

I am also getting an onscreen message saying it is updating (from where I don't know) occassionally which normally fails, but when it works still no different.

I am starting to think the actually unit head unit is dying.

Think I may have found a solution, or at least a partial solution, I changed the language, then changed back to English, this forced it to reload the software, since then it has been much better, only losing briefly for a few minutes, have not used the car much since doing this, will do approx 250 miles at the weekend so will test out then.
