Nerds 2 You
After almost 2 years of owning my AVIC-Z110BT I have found a replacement that I am really excited about it is a double DIN with all the same features of the Z110 plus an added bonus that the screen is detatchable and is a fully functioning Android 2.1 tablet with hardware controls for the DVD/CD and tuner if the faceplate is removed so it can still be used. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Universal-Android-Double-2-Din-Auto-Car-Tablet-Pad-PC-/280692692905?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item415a9697a9 I have been a little underwhelmed by the Pioneer unit even with the Z120 upgrade, the nav is still mediocre at best and the voice recognition is worse than bad. I plan on selling my Z110BT once I replace the digitizer which got horrible scratched and scarred by the suction cup of the fake stereo security device I have been using. http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/4213-d3-stealth-faceplate/page__st__30 Thankfully this site has the service manual posted and today I received a new digitizer from Pioneer parts #CSX1148 , the screen will be 100% perfect when I sell it. It's a cool toy but no HD radio, I had experience with chinees GPS car navigation systems, they only work for few months before they start falling a part, my system is now not reading sd card lost screen display on CD mode, crappy sound quality, even worse with bluetooth stream. But it's up to you, try it and let us know how the GPS goes.
RonS
It's a cool toy but .....it's up to you, try it and let us know how the GPS goes. Thank god for pioneers (no pun intended). Any independent reviews?
donniesd
Yea man. Report back on it. I know android is a sweet OS and is great all around. But $729.99 + cost for a warranty is a little to rich for my blood.
dellsam34
How did the tablet project go for you, did you ever buy one?

VBLUE42
I also agree this looks like a good idea until you realize there is no brand name on this thing which unfortunately screams cheap Chinese made garbage. The only good thing about this is the fact that it uses Android but I can almost assure you this thing is going to be disastrous in very short order. Clearly Nerds 2 You is fairly resourceful in repairs and maintenance with this kind of stuff because I have no doubt he is going to need it. Certainly keep us posted.
