Ebernard
I've searched hi and low, here and there for the flex cable for an N1/N2. Pioneer replaced part number CNP7621 (Flex Cable) with service kit part number GXX1257. I called Pioneer (I'm listed as a whosale dealer) and they no longer have the part available- period. I thought I was in luck when I ordered the part from partstore.com but after I placed the order they called me and informed me that the part was no longer available. I've also searched google and can't find anything. Any ideas? TIA Eric
Xxsrt4xX
Well, they do have this free upgrade. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 42,00.html
Ebernard
I did see the free repair on Pioneers site, however the unit is already taken apart. Anyone have a few of these on hand? Thanks, Eric

SigForLife
The Best Buy Parts Dept used to have them, but I just checked and they no longer do.
Ebernard
Ok- Understanding that we can no longer get these parts, what are folks to do if their cable breaks? I know that Pioneer is offering a one time repair for units that are effected by the issue, but what about the other folks? Do you think Pioneer will make the part available again or are owners, and repair shops just out of luck? Doesn't seem fair to the consumer that Pioneer has done this, for example if you have the soldered bypass on an N1 you will pay $200.00 when you send the defective unit in for the free cable repair. They notice that the bypass has been done and replace the Main PCB. If you have an N2 that needs flex cable repair additional service will command a $200 charge if the bypass hasn't been reversed, etc. How do you feel about the way Pioneer is dealing with this? TIA, Eb
pcguy760
Well firstly if you open or modify the unit in any way, immediately your warranty becomes void. I just sent my N2 to Pioneer because I was having issues with the flip out screen and they fixed it with the cable upgrade.
whtcrxghst
They probably figured that when they annouced this program, tons of people were immediately going to send in theirs avics and there would be a shortage of flex cables. Maybe when there are more available, they will start selling them again
