aux in with duel zone question

Recommended Posts

ok well another thing which way do you guys think would be better to wire the system. i understand diagram 1 would give people options say passenger 1 wants to watch a dvd from the avic z1, they would change to input "2" in there screens and there utalizing the output from the z1.

now passenger 2 wants to play a game, they can change to input 1 on there screen (thus leaving the z1 out of the loop and playing audo and video right from the splitter.... next say i park and want to get in on the game of ps2 can i watch the AUX soarce upfrount without interpupting pasengers 1 play of the dvd?

hears some SHITTY diagrams i drew let me know ( o and when it says video spitter lets assume it does audio to (i forgot that in my diagram)

and the second one this one would force all passengers to watch the same thing (this only utalizing one input on the screen)

so basically the breakdown question is, can i watch AUX input upfrount while DVD is still outputing to the rear seat.

wow, that's starting to confuse me.

1. I think you can split the video and audio signals at least 2 times maybe even 4 times without really noticing a problem.

2. the wireless headphones are IR and the wireless controllers are RF, totally different mediums and no problems. From: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 7738#27738 thread

http://www.cykoautomotive.com/1 would let the rear passengers watch different things on the 2 monitors

http://www.cykoautomotive.com/2 means all the remote monitors watch the same thing. This is how most people set them up, the other way is too many options. And I would try this without the powered splitter and I'll bet it would work just fine for up to 4 monitors.

ok but will number 1 work, i mean it comes down to the wiring looke like it will work no problems, but like i said say 1 person is in the back watching a DVD on there screen using the z1 as the sorace, one person is playing ps2 (using a diff video input on monitor) but i decide upfrount i want the z1 to play the AUX sorace up frount, will that interfear with the passenger watching the DVD

This was from a PM, but I'm having a hard time getting my head around this. Maybe some one else can just jump in and help. Maybe it's been a long day.

The rear passengers can't watch different things with the only input being from the Z1. They would need a second input to switch. The rear outs can be programmed to: DVD, mirror of the Z1 or AV. If it's set to DVD, the Z1 can watch the AV and not interrupt the dvd.

NO I NO, the monitors have duel VIDEO in look at the diagram i drew i asked can the aux input INTO the ZE be played out the froutn while the REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT still plays the DVD from the z1

Dude, this "English" as you might call it above is stating to make my head hurt... No = know? Duel = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duel The Ze? Maybe I'm just tired :)

The rear outs can be programmed to: DVD, mirror of the Z1 or AV. If it's set to DVD, the Z1 can watch the AV and not interrupt the dvd.

Yes the rear can be DVD while the front is the AV input as long as the rears aren't programed for MIRROR. If the rear is programmed for DVD, that's what will go out to the rears no matter what the Z1 is looking at.

or theres another one im looking at it has 5 outputs 5 inputs PLUS built in tv tunner, and im going to install this

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio ... ctID=15624

into the back of the center console that will be going to AV input 3. all this will be fibrglassed/sunk in nicely prepare for pics of single-double din conversion, that install and a good job on monitor installs, under each monitor in seats a simple clean 3 way slider switch to select desired input and the one to control input to the Z1 will be mounted under the Z1, eveythings going to be sexy and clean lol

or get the pionner unit! overpriced but nice http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio ... ctID=14508

Here's a thought:

Install the second thing (DME-GP01) on both rear monitors (1 for each monitor). Then when you want to use the PS2, just plug it into which ever monitor you want since it will bypass the signal. Only downside is that both screens will not be able to view the PS2 at the same time (unless you use 3 Y-adapters).
