laidbackc
Does the Z1 monitor your vehicles performance? if so, can someone explain how it works in detail a little... thank you!
05Stang-GT
You can see your speed, acceleration (g's), incline, etc.....most info is gathered from the gyro sensor/accelerometer in the unit....
laidbackc
Ok, so it doesnt track like 0-60 or 1/4 mile time... or is that the d3

Chapman
Ok, so it doesnt track like 0-60 or 1/4 mile time... or is that the d3 I don't think the d3 does that either..
coocho
Ok, so it doesnt track like 0-60 or 1/4 mile time... or is that the d3 No it doesnt do that. If you want stuff like taht try their additional car attachment. Sells for 300 or something. Not worth it in my opinion

bmwalters
i have installed vss and every other wire i know to, and the accelerometer nor the spedometer work... i know not what to do.
CamelTowing
Give it time to calibrate
bmwalters
it has had time, i have actually had my z1 installed over a year, it has never worked properly.... actually though, the compass, and battery voltage both work, just not the actual spedo, and other functions
offroadzj
are you sure you have the VSS wire correct? I have done quite a few cars that had no VSS and the speedo never worked without it. I would double check it just to be sure.
dawgbone
Those are done by accelerometers and not the VSS... I had my Avic in my older truck with no VSS, and it worked like a champ... Have you tried the recalibrate option, then give it time(which only should take a couple of miles and a couple of turns)... In vehicle dynamics mode hit the acceleration screen then select re-calibrate, erase data or whatever it is.. Otherwie, I'd say your Avic is broke...
bmwalters
thanks ill try that. we shall see.
bmwalters
i dont see where to recallibrate. any help?
dawgbone
i dont see where to recallibrate. any help? Ooopps... yeah... I just went and checked mine, and it wasn't there... You probably have to reset the Avic to get the option... I just did it the other night when I finally got everything hooked back up in my new truck.... I noticed that the acceration meter was not zero'ed out... so I pressed the acc meter and there was an option to recalibrate.... afterwards, there was an "unavailable" messege until I drove about 1.5 miles and made a couple of turns...
