deversole
Hey guys. I am considering buying the D3 for my 2004 Yukon Denali. I already have XM in my vehicle. Can I use my XM adapter with the D3, or do I need to purchase another? Also, I have a factory installed CD changer. Will that work with the D3 as well? Thanks!
MisFit
nope, you'll be replacing both of them
cntrylvr79
You can however reuse the factory xm antenna.
deversole
Thanks for the replies guys. I wonder if there is some kind of adapter that would allow me to use the CD changer. What would be the benefit of reusing the factory XM antenna other than not having to install another? Hrmm...it seems I have a lot to think about before I get the D3... Thanks again!! whtcrxghst
Can't use the changer either. Its not made by Pioneer. The advantages of using the factory XM antenna is that is would retain the factory look, you wouldn't have to run the wire for the Pioneer one, and you wouldn't have another antenna on your dash or roof

pennengr
Is any kind of adapter needed when using the factory antenna? I'm thinking of doing this myself on an Audi A3.
cntrylvr79
Dunno for vw's. GM's and fords you can remove the plastic casing.
onecleverthought
I have a VW Jetta 2006 that had an OEM nav system in it. The GPS antenna is the right cable but even after you take off its plastic housing, the shape of it won't allow you to put it in because it's 'L' shaped. The XM antenna is the same type of cable as the factory GPS antenna cable; however, the avic d3 requires you to get an adapter for the XM antenna if you want to use it. shockme66
So if I understand correct, you can use the OEM antenna but need a convertor. Do you have a part number for the convertor. I have a passat, and want to use the OEM antenna for SAT. Thanks
