CiD
I had to be creative and use 2 side foam tape.. I also filed down the trim to make it fit right... This is what i came up with: CiD
xmx250
Is the purpose of the foam tape to keep the trim ring stuck where it is? Also what did you use to file it down? Also does anyone know where we can get spare trim rings? becasue i'm pretty sure i might screw it up the first time.
CiD
i used it as a extra measure to hold it in place and to prop the trim up so it would match where the corners of the dash plate should meet with the original oem radio. I used a tradional flat file and a vise... i vised the file (used a cloth in between so i don't damage the file and then filed the sides of the trim until it fit.. i usually took 2mm off then checked to see if it fit. I would suggest usuing the avic cardboard box and make a dummy replica of the opening of your dash then use that as a guide to trace how much you need to trim off until the trim ring fits. xmx250
I see, thanks alot man. I wonder if we can get replacement trim rings anywhere???
ranjen3834
Anyone know if a D2 trim ring will work on a D3 ? I used a cage for a D2 to install the D3 in my Jetta. From the picture on Pioneer's website it appears to have a type of clip to keep it in place. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CNS8298

MisFit
are you stuttering? you should be able to use the d2 trim ring, the one that comes with the d3 is really meant to go between the radio and the dash bezel, not on the outside
crapz1
I used the existing trim that I dremeled and sanded down for my D1. Works just fine on the D3.
ranjen3834
The D2 trim panel is about as useful as the the one that comes with the D3. It does have clips, but the D3 doesn't have anything for them to attach to. Back to the drawing board. I did file down the D3 trim, but to me it doesn't look professional.
