Guest
For those of you who have Nav Traffic, how does it work? Does it actually suggest an alternate route? Does it work everywhere, or only select markets? Is it actually worth the money?
Risko
It only works in 45 or so cityies as of now. I know it works in Nashville, but I am only there a couple times a month and feel I know every backroad, so its not really worth it. Chattanooga is not supported. I believe XM's website gives more details.
va_connoisseur
I don't know how bad the roads are in Nashville but in the DC Metro area it has been a life saver. Updates come rather quickly
Itchy
If you do a lot of driving during rush hour, it'll be worth it.
dwhitley0381
I am in Houston, TX and its awesome... all our freeways show up and its great... I would recomend it if you are in a big city...
dsf3g
I don't know how bad the roads are in Nashville but in the DC Metro area it has been a life saver. Updates come rather quickly Yeah, if I lived in D.C. this I'd definitely pay for the traffic updates. Here in Baltimore, where I drive its not a problem. But based on what I've experienced of D.C. traffic... yeeesh I wouldn't go anywhere without it!
jaytrey
you live in bmore too? whereabouts?
rapayn1
I agree with dsf3g. Here in Columbia, Maryland, it is not really worth it to have. I do think it is worth it in D.C. though. I probably won't pay for it next time my subscription comes up for renewal.

Agro
That bad boy works all over in Southern California. Very cool. I really like XM Radio and the addition of NavTraffic is like 3.99 more a month or something, so it is worth it.
asianman35
i live in greenbelt, work in columbia, i dont really find it useful, the only road ive ever been on that it shows me anything is 395 in dc near va, and im rarely on that road, nothing else really shows up for me. whtcrxghst
I find the traffic flow information is wrong alot, but the list of traffic events is usually correct. Saves me lots of time in traffic by looking at that list and deciding which freeways to take home. Well worth $
dsf3g
you live in bmore too? whereabouts? Parkville, but I haven't bought a D3 yet. Planning on it, but don't have it yet.
Fat Tony
It is definately worth the money. It will ask you if you want a new route. It will show you little 35 or 20 dots on the freeway to show you how fast the particular freeway is going. I paid for a year, and I guarantee you that I am going to sign up again next year. fatboy02
It might work for you folks in MD but driving into Falls Church From Stafford VA every day, it left me sitting in grid lock more than it got me out of it. I actually called to complain to XM one time while I had been sitting on I95 for 20 mins and they said that there was no indication of congestion... I cancelled my subscription the next day.
