brock.travis
Thanks so much,Another dumb question. can the xm and sirius share the same attena  no they cannot. I know it will look stupid have 3 antennas (gps/xm/sirius) but thats the price you have to pay  I’m using the factory XM antenna that came on my truck. I mounted the GPS antenna under the dash in the front like most people. So my truck still looks stock from the outside, but I have XM, GPS, OnStar, and HandsFree calling) all with only one visible antenna on the roof.
zeros
yeah you can use a xm antenna for siruis . i did worked great ! i sure wish the siruis interface looked like the xm one does.. much better display... im hoping if they merge they will improve it !
PaisanNYC
you are right. you CAN use an XM antenna with a Sirius radio, and vice versa. Just crack open the plastic housing around the end of the antenna connector that goes into the satellite tuner box. Â But you will only be able to pick up the satellite signals. You cannot pick up Sirius repeaters with an XM antenna, and cannot pick up XM repeaters with a Sirius antenna.

apax
i thought that pioneer is coming out with a component that has sirius and xm combination......didn't they announce that at CES show.....
Derf
yes the xm interface is much better Yes, but it's still XM.
PaisanNYC
yes the xm interface is much better Yes, but it's still XM. Which means superior programming. Unless all you got Sirius for was Howard, or hit music that can be heard on free radio too.
whtcrxghst
If you still wanna hear songs that have been played 10,000,000 times, stick with XM. Made the mistake of pressing my source button one too few times the other day and landed on XM instead of Sirius. The first station I caught was still playing that Daniel Powder (sp?) song. Tried another and it was still playing The Fray. I assume that even free radio has given up on playing those "hits." Â Which means superior programming. Unless all you got Sirius for was Howard, or hit music that can be heard on free radio too.
coocho
maybe you landed on a classics station
whtcrxghst
Thats what I thought too, thats why I tried a second station. It was like a time warp to a year ago when I got Sirius and stopped listening to XM. Same songs were playing
