SAtownTX
Has anyone done this? Maybe somehow mod it to go through ipod cable? Reason for this, ipod is alot more than a portable hard drive.
tjc005
I have, through the USB add-on, but only as a music storage device while my ipod is getting serviced. If you are suggesting that maybe we can use one the way that an internal hdd on a nav system works, that won't happen.
VBLUE42
The only way to get a hard drive player with a decent control interface from the D3 is with an ipod.
Mr.AlMuhairi
You can get a portable media player such as media gate MG-25. I am using one with my D2 and its wonderful. You can put all your music in it and just enjoy watching movies, shows, listen to extensive collection while you are driving.
HiFiSi
Yes, pioneer makes an adapter so you can hook up a usb hard drive to the D3 just like an ipod. But from what I've heard, the interface is really, really bad. You're better off just getting an ipod.
PaisanNYC
screw the Pioneer adapter. Pick up a Vantec AVOX or a Mediagate MG-25P. I have the AVOX with a 120GB harddrive and rock the ride away
ohitsmeoh
so do you connect them using the AV input?

I don't find it on their web site. Â Thanks!
larry818
I found it. Â It seems all of the bad "reviews" of the thing are mostly from folks who have never seen it, or have older head units. I've seen references that say the 2007 and newer heads will display better info than the older ones, but no definitive list of what you see on what. No idea what this will look like in my D3, but I ordered it anyway. Â I'll post on what I find...
