sebim4
I am unable to set the clock on my AVIC-D3. I am from Atlantic Canada and between the "Summer" (DST) On/OFF and the +3-3 hour time difference buttons, my system indicates short by one hour. Note: Atlantic time is 4 hours difference to Pacific Standard Time. Apparently, according to the owners manual the original time in the system is based on Pacific Standard Time and my current location = 4 hour difference. Therefore , I need the ability to have an extra hour on my +3 hour button . Is there a fix? Am I doing something wrong with the setup,?I have tried to reset a couple of times to see if it is a satellite issue, however, no success. I contacted Pioneer Canada and they said the maximum amount you add or subtract the time is 3 hours, sorry no fix. Appreciate some assustance if anyone can help
gowyn
pretty moronic isn't it? I believe by default the clock is set to Pacific Time, so you adjust the time three time zones into the Pacific Ocean. Idiots!
BuffaloSS
I found this annoying too...but after a while it corrected the time. I never read up on that in the manual and had no clue how to set the clock.
firebirdude
I've installed many-a-D3's, but don't have a ton of time playing with them. During initial setup, I have wondered this same thing. There has got to be something about this in the manual....
BuffaloSS
You can go +/- 3 hours from the time it collects via GPS. That's all the adjustment you can do. For me on EST, it needed to be +3. Pretty $h!tty setup for you up in Atl. Canada, if you ask me.
32valvefox
set the parking brake.... that allows you to set your clock. if your unit is bypassed it should let you set your clock. but other than that i got nothin bud
BuffaloSS
His problem is that he is one time zone beyond the possible clock adjustment.

BuffaloSS
Does changing into "summer time" get you one more hour, or take another away?
gowyn
summer time will give +1 hour, problem is in DST it will still be one hour behind. You have plus or minus 3 hours. Problem is default is Pacific Time. So add three hours and you will get EST. But, if you subtract three hours you will have the correct time if you were between North America and Hawaii!! I think the D3 was programmed in California and no thought given to the rest of North America.

BuffaloSS
summer time will give +1 hour, problem is in DST it will still be one hour behind. Didn't even realize at the time that DST was right around the corner.
