AForret
Does the Avic-d3 have a hideaway brain for easy access to the audio/video package ? Sorry, just curious for buying sake. Thank you

knight20
Nope, the D3 comes in one package. All the audio/video input and outputs come from the unit.
AForret
So .. if I wanna play ps3 or something.. i would plug that directly into the back of the unit ?
whtcrxghst
Yep, all the in/outs hang off the back. Or you could use that headphone jack looking hole on the front. It does audio and video

It does audio and video Hmmm... odd way to state it. The AV-2 input is in the front. It's a 1/8" mini plug with video and R/L audio.
AForret
Yeah but were talking about the Video and Audio and then connecting a ps2
HarmsWay
If the PS2 has video and audio outputs then it can be plugged into the D3 AV-2 input in the front of the D3 (lower left corner). You may need to buy the special Pioneer CD-RM10 cable to adapt if the PS2 outputs are RCA. Look at page 16 of the D3 installation manual available online at Pioneer. HiFiSi
Or you could just buy some RCA cable extenders to extend the inputs from the back of the unit to wherever you need them.

Use the CD-RM10 (sold separately) to connect the external video component.
