04ctd
thanks. just got this unit last few weeks. not very impressed with how counter intuitive it is, and how many levels you have to drill thru to do something. is there an easier way to SAVE the current location, like one SIMPLE button that says "SAVE CURRENT LOCATION" i want to drive to work, hit that button, type in WORK and save it. then go to Bank, do same. few friends houses & parents. just be nice to be anywhere in town, and hit BANK, and have it tell me the quickest way to get there. the roads around here are all convoluted, not laid out straight & easy like the mid west. there are a dozen ways to get there, but none of them direct or easy. HiFiSi
There are many things the D3 can do that people complain about it not being able to do. Just because they don't know how to do it. The manual is your friend.
hottwhyrd
yup hifi but my favorite was "how do i save music to the d3's hard drive?"
04ctd
Check out your manual, you can do exactly what you are asking hey now, them's fighting words... i gave the wife the manual to read, and she WON'T and everyone knows, real men don't read the instructions... what does a new manual look like? i got my unit used from Crutchfield on a Scratch & Dent, and it is printed on regular paper, and it's a inch or so thick, printed front and back. huge and intimidating. i got the "Go to W Petit Bay" to go away, but still want to make a button that is in a top level menu that says "save current location" ..off to do read my homework assignment - The Owners Manual ... HiFiSi
You can change the quick options (the ones that pop up when you touch the screen when viewing the map) to include that.
whtcrxghst
You can also download it as a pdf from Pioneer's site if you prefer. Makes it easier to pretend you're doing something productive at work
dsf3g
yup hifi but my favorite was "how do i save music to the d3's hard drive?" Through iTunes.
04ctd
that was a LONG read. there are a few NICE tidbits of info in there, though, makes it worth it. i will set up my shortcuts today, thanks for making me read it. i would NEVER read something like this at work.... because i might fall asleep... i wish i had a double sided printer at work to print off a clean copy
