Pretty nice pictures Jason. Can you please elaborate more on the iPod interface?
Thanks, what would you like to know?

Is it faster than the D3 when scrolling to find a song?

Oh, yeah, it's like night and day... The video review will be up tomorrow, so everyone will be able to see how it preforms in real time.

I'm dying to get my hands on a 90BT! Thanks for all the info so far Jason. Can you supply a list of what's not in the box that will be needed for other functions? For example, what's the part number for the compatible XM module? Does it support XM NavTraffic? Backup camera?
XM NavTraffic has been replaced by MSN Direct, which is built in. So any IP Bus XM Reciever, and any Composite (RCA) backup camera will work for you.

Does the 90BT support a TV tuner? Does anybody know of a viable digital TV solution on the market yet? I don't want to buy an analog tuner that will be obsolete next February.

No it does not

So is it worth getting rid of my Z3 to get the new F90 series?

Posted May 31, 2008 · 10:52 UTC#81

I'm dying to know how fast is the Ipod contolling from the F90Bt. This is important for me because radio and my Ipod's playlists will be used mostly....and the videos from the ipod. :D

Question to Jason:

Does setting AV1 input to "iPod" disable or gray out being able to choose the AV1 input from the source screen? I am asking because I plan on using rca y-adapters to source both an iPod and a 360 to the AV1 input. Most important is the 360 that I have in the trunk. The thing plays everything the iPod does, and all Divx, MPeg 1, 2, 4, WMV, WMV-HD, AVI, Xvid, and some other formats all off of any old USB hard drive or flash drive.

Jason,

Thanks. Can you just confirm one final time that there is no way to output video to another display (rear seats)? I know that was what was advertised, but now you have the actual hardware...

I believe the 90/900 will work just like the D3. They will send the DVD video signal to rear screens.

It just won't send the DVD signal to the rear and let you listen to another source like the N and Z series do

Yes, it does disable the AV1 option.

Thanks for the reply. Not a big deal, just wanted to know so I could wire accordingly ahead of time before getting the unit.

Anyway, as for the Sirius interface, can you tell from the manual whether or not it has a custom icon for each channel or if it is just the dog logo for each channel. Thanks again and looking forward to the video tonight.

I will be doing the same thing as you only with my iphone for browsing and watching youtube and mxtube and with my ipod 80 gig which will store and play all of my full length movies. You should be able to go into the settings and change the av1 setting accordingly to suit the source you want at that particular time. It should not take but a couple of seconds to switch.

No, its parametric, not graphic. Which means all frequencies in that range will adjust in reference to the band you actually raise or lower.

iPhone: NO, only music and phone calls.

Any other iPod: YES

I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but Pioneer confirmed it.

I know, it sucks...Apple just HAD to make it use a different cable...

Sorry, VBLue you will not be able to play videos from your IPhone. Read above.

My girlfriend has a new Ford with Micorsoft Sync in it and after watching the video I've come to realize that this new series is based on Sync. I wonder if this has anything to do with MSN Direct.

Yes I will, just like I do it right now with my D3.

Just wondering if there's been any word yet on the bypass for this unit. RE: if it's the same wire switch as the D3?

I'd really hate to lose on the fly nav changes while driving. I know they have to do it, but it's so annoying that they forget that people don't always drive alone in a car.

Many thanks for the awesome video and look at the new unit!

Can't wait. Lets hope I can buy one and have it shipped to Toronto.

Nice work Jason, appreciate the inside scoop!

This looks great, but I see no mention whatsoever of dual zone capability. Is it there? Doesn't seem like it from the pictures of the menus.

Posted Jun 02, 2008 · 23:33 UTC#100

awesome pics. :)

Do you know if the unit will be able to play pics from the SD card slot or Ipod? It would be awesome to run a slide show of pictures from an SD card while driving down the road.
