As for difference. It upgrade Windows CE from 6.0 to 6.1.7.0, updates maps and updates software as well. Sorry it took so long for me to reply back but the wife caught me outside playing and forced me to go to the casino with her.. =-)

So oh yea in case you didn't read an earlier post, yes the testmode works..

I am noticing faster boot times on my unit but since I am a new owner of the F90BT I really didn't experience any dreadfully long boot times before.

Just tried the nav function, when you arrive at your destination you actually arrive! No more having to delete the route! This thing finally works the way it was supposed to way back when. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering the mute wire/ground bypass still works fine.

This update might actually be what we've all been waiting so patiently for! UI is all-around a lot more responsive and snappy. No more long delays trying to make BT phone calls. My iPod has not dropped since installing the update but only time will tell if that bug is truly squashed. The GPS map also seems to update\move faster now. Thank you Pioneer!

*Keeps fingers crossed that iPod stays stable*

nice gotta try this out! Can I put this on disc or do I got to get a SD card for my F90?

Posted Oct 29, 2008 · 23:03 UTC#55

I downloaded the update and it installed just fine. Boot up time was a lot faster and the blue boxes on the map were gone.

But I am still having an issue with my ipod classic 160 GB. It still drops the connection.

The ipod was the only real issue I was concerned about. Hopefully either Apple or Pioneer will find a fix for this.

I heard that updating can only be done through SD. USB or CD will not work.

Has anybody tryed it with the ipod touch FW 1.1.5 or lower???? does the album art still looks all pixeled??? With the FW 2.0???? Mine has FW 1.1.4 but I can't try it till I get home and update the unit..... I will post about this as soon as I get home.....

I'm having a pretty bad issue with this update. Now my cell phone contacts won't transfer over. When I try to transfer my phone book either I get a message that says "No Telephone Number" or it says "Now Loading Data..." for 2 minutes, then reboots.

Never had a problem with this before. This is some BS. Update Schmupdate.

Wow, So much faster. Didn't have a zero iphone3g disconnect during the drive home. Before was getting atleast one per trip.

edit: also looks like the bluebox fix is built in to the new update.

What cellphone and carrier?

And the answer is YES! You can still boot up your unit in Test Mode with the 2.0 upgrade! Just finished updating, replaced my image.res, data.zip, and map color files, and everything works GREAT! Just thought you all would like to know!

Everything seems to be working very nicely so far! And the dreaded start up screen is gone!

Yes! So much faster, both bootup and button response. Just too bad they didn't update iGo to the newest version which has heading up for 2D :( But overall a great update that was badly needed.

Me too!!! Not having 2D track up is ridiculous! However, I'm glad to hear about the other improvements.

Does anyone know if this update fixes the preset text issue with the HD tuner? If not i'll wait till I get home and give it shot and report back my findings.

Another great improvement is that they fixed all those damned gas station icons that used to pop up with the MSN Direct! Lots of little improvements too! They did clean up the icons a bit but I like the custom ones that were posted in this forum better.

Posted Oct 30, 2008 · 00:36 UTC#68

Defineatly a good improvement. Everything they said is fixed.

One major thing is you don't need to get off the phone if you arn't in your car and want to go drive. It doesn't just disconnect it for 30 seconds or whatever it used to do. Now it switches over. The phone icon stuff doesn't show up though but it's usable. This is a feature i defineatly need.

Looks like they got rid of the voice recognition and vr catalog features in this update. I don't mind, it didn't work that great anyways.

To those with iPhones too impatient to watch that YouTube video from Pioneer:

- Set your contact list to sort by "First Name Last Name" *before* syncing to the new software... when it's done, you can go back to Last/First if you have it that way

I'm about to install the update but won't know until tomorrow when i actually need to drive somewhere:

- I wonder if this fixes the issue of "You have arrived at your destination" and then *still* think you need directions there

Watch the video, they are indeed still part of the software

Maps seem to be the same here (2007.10)...

F700BT here

1)Faster boot up time

2)Faster surfing thru the menus

3)MAP display doesn't have the transparent squares on the left and top corner, they only appear when a route is set.

Interesting. It just doesn't work for me anymore. I'm clicking the same multifunction button. And the VR Catalog button is no longer to the right of the [Rear SP] button.

Posted Oct 30, 2008 · 00:48 UTC#75

That is strange. I still have the VR button right where it was...
