Here's what happens:

The track recording function that I added IS working. What I do notice, however, is that when I get into the "Manage Track Logs" screen and stop the recording,..even from there, the track log is immediately deleted. There are no saved track logs. It does this even in the raw, unmodified V4.0.

 

Is this possibly a bug??

FYI..Sometimes when I try to use the trip computer it does not work. I can re-start the system and it will work. I can shut off the truck for a while. Start back up and again it will either work or not work. The screem shows all of the computer boxes but the displayed info are all zeroes. I can scroll through all three "trips" and they are all the same. I have modified the parking break setting to 256 so that the system can be used while driving. I have ziped the file up with both winzip and 7zip. No matter which file I use as DATA.ZIP, my system continually reboots. when I reset to the original 4.0, it loaded fine. Can you please make a version where the parking brake is disabled.

that means you're not properly zipping it, the proper way is to highlight the contents of the data folder and then zipping them and not to zip the data folder

1) Does it matter if I use 7zip or winzip

2) IS t here a setting so speedcams don't load. I don't need them, and I am hoping by not loading them, the system load will be quicker.

I will say that i normally use AlZip, but when I use it on this mod, I get a corrupt file out of the data.zip. But when I use 7-zip, all is fine.

What I did was blast all of the saved data and tried it. It was better. This time I am going to use 7ZIP (Currently using RAR) and try uploading.

i have used 7zip since day one and very seldom dealt with corrupt files

So far, so good!

I blasted the winRAR program and set all the attributes to 7Zip. The ONLY reason I liked RAR was the ability to find files by word. Easier and faster than ExamDiff.

But, like with everything else in life, it's a trade off.

Well, I *thought* I had resolved this but it still has an issue....at least with mine. I worked like a charm yesterday after I used a fresh SD with a brand new 7Zip with the latest V4.0. I went to take off today, went into the manage track records screen, clicked on record and away I went. Got to my work which is about 8 miles, clicked stop recording and once again the recorded track log immediately erased itself Also, once again, the trip computer was inoperative.

I am going to remove my track log shortcut (which I don't think is the problem though) and try it again.

Thanks for the great mod! I have been tinkering with just about every mod on this forum and even with its minor issues your mod is by far my favorite. Stanislavovichs mod blew me away then N-S-E-W's tweaks... but this has a simple elegance that works well. I just hope 3.0 is hackable...

Nope..it was definately not there. I am playing with the button placement until I get them right. I am relocating the "Recording/Stop Recording" to the left, the "Clear All" in the middle and the "Track Log Options" to the right.

I'll post the code as soon as I get it ironed out.

nothing major,

-track log options was missing and is already back (thanks to 69sixpackbee for pointing this out)

-better screen off button (everything now is blanked out including the av bar)

instructions:

for newbies READ THE HACKS THREAD FIRST, don't just jump into doing a mod without enough knowledge,

1) first off this is not an auto installer, this is leetlauncher v2 that i use to install my mods

2)extract files and transfer all files to a freshly formatted SD card

3)this already has testmode file so no need to add anything else

4)insert SD to unit,

5)boot up unit

6)click testmode

***if this is your first time,PLEASE BACK UP YOUR FILES

7)all the files are in files to be added folder

8)copy DATA.ZIP, SYS.TXT, and DS-DIGI file to igo folder

9 )optional, copy EZRIDER to igo folder and copy license to content folder

10)optional sound files, copy files inside sound folder and paste to myflashdisk/data/sound

**I RECOMMEND DELETING THE SAVE FILES, it's in My Flash Disk\USER\UserData\iGo\save, everything should be deleted except for favourites.dat if you have it

11)once done click down on control knob and then click the pioneer logo,

12) wait for it to boot and your done, DO NOT REMOVE THE SD AFTER, IF YOU WANT TO REMOVE THE SD CARD TURN OFF THE IGNITION BEFORE DOING SO

Almost there..

Issues I am having still:

1. The audible warnings of the speedcam once clicked "ON" works fine. Albeit, the volume is not adjustable. But, once the unit has been shut off and then powered back up the audible warning is defaulted back to "disabled" yet all of the rest of the cam settings stick. Is this a variable??

2. Trip computer still freezes up. I started off on a trip this morning and I clicked on the trip computer and everything was working. I started recording a track log at this time. All was well. I stopped the truck at my destination, pressed "pause" on the tripmeter and scrolled to "trip 2" and let it run. At this time I clicked the "recording stop" for the track log and it toggles from "currently recorded track log" to "tracklog000" which is normal. I then shut off the truck and went inside to get a cup of Jo. 10 minutes later I fire up the truck and started underway. After about 2 minutes I figured the unit was well booted up so I clicked back into the "Trip Computer" and no data..nada...zilch. All zeros. I reset the trips and even though the current time adjusted itself on the top there were still no data in any of the boxes...all zeroes. I started another track log recording. This time when I got to my destination and pushed "Stop Recording" it showed nothing...nada...zilch.

I then shutoff the truck and restarted it immediately and the trip computer once again started to work....WTF???

I have tried this mod in BOTH of my F90BT's with exactly the same result.

I've been using cmh928's mod for quite some time, and I had problems with MSN Direct, so I decided to try IDT's latest (4.1), and I'm still having the same issue. Can anyone tell my why MSN Direct seems to never have any data? Please see the picture below. Sometimes I can fix it by pressing the reset button on my F90bt, but most of the time, it just comes and goes as it pleases. It just tells me "No [gas, traffic, movie, etc] data available" Is this an MSN problem, or a mod problem? CMH told me to just hit the reset button, and it should be fixed... but that only works some of the time, and it doesn't STAY fixed. It's really annoying because my trial period is gonna be over soon, so I have to fix it so that I can make a decision on whether to keep it or not.

Now, for a few suggestions/requests...

IDT... would you consider putting an MSN butterfly on the map screen that goes to the MSN Direct screen? I'm sure you've considered this... because I know it alienates f70bt users... but you could also having a non-MSN version, if it's not too much trouble to maintain two versions. Just a suggestion. Also, would you consider putting the MSN butterflies on the two "hotspots" on the MSN Direct screen? Your mod leaves us blind to fumble around to find them. I'm sure you know what I mean, but for those of you that are unaware... there are two invisible "buttons" on the MSN Direct screen that you have to push (left one, then right) to get to the data screen from my screenshot. CMH's mod has two MSN icons over the hotspots so that we can find them easily.

Anyway... back to my MSN Direct problem... Normally, it would have valid data for each entry, but most of the time I get the screen I've posted below, where it looks like all the data has been wiped.

And, finally... I like your map screen and the icons and high-res graphics in the upper-left corner, but I'm used to pressing the graphic there to hear the last audio prompt. Instead, I get the trip timeline. How do I hear the last audio prompt on-demand? Would you consider making this part of your mod? I believe CMH had the compass function as the trip timeline shortcut... and he didn't have a shortcut to the time settings. Which, we may all agree... the time settings aren't too important once you set the time for the first time. (Unless you disconnect the battery a lot)

Every time unit is restarted before fully booting (i.e. after exiting Test Mode w/o starting up Navi, or sometimes when using a remote starter), MSN becomes hosed. As long as you make sure it is restarted only after full boot of the Navi part, MSN should keep working.

I downloaded and followed you instructions to the letter. My 700bt keeps rebooting. Any ideas?
