Can you provide more details? I have never seen a small keyboard so I am not sure what you are referring to. If possible you might want to take a picture and upload it so I can see what you are talking about.

 

I saw this problem in another thread before and I think it had something to do with the language files. The person only had the problem when they used the Polish language.

 

Ah, OK it might be a regional thing. I would make sure the device setting in sys,txt is set correctly and the regional settings in the Nav settings are set correctly.

Thanks to the info from vansmack it appears that it might be the keyboard UI file. It looks like this guy grabbed the keyboard800_480.ui file from the default set of mods and it started to work correctly. I will look into a fix for this based on this information. If you would like to do it before I package another release look here for more info:

I am not sure you can do that. To use mdl files you need to use a themechanger I believe. I would just find a BMP of an image you want to use. Then copy and rename the files daycar.bmp and nightcar.bmp. Those are the arrows for day and night. You might need to change the following in sys.txt as well:

3dcarsizemin=5000

3dcarsizemax=8000

3dcarsizemul=30000

You can use MDL's by simply coding them in SYS.TXT, no theme changer needed. Converting a BMP to MDL is pretty much impossible, though...

There was an European Firmware Update earlier in the year (I think it was 2.0090) which dealt with an issue with the polish keyboard. Maybe the fix never made it into the US firmware, hence using hacked US versions or mods you reimport the bug.

First off. Love the mod. Ez to install on my x910bt. question: is there a way to set what source my unit boots to. it use to boot into whatever i last left it on but now it always seems to wanna boot into the map?

Also can you have it tilted one so i can see the sky as default when its on the 3d maps?

And the stupid sales man was getting me all pumped about this MSN direct. Then after i bought the unit and went to the site to sign up for 3 months free i find out there is no city even in my province it supports. FML

Yeah, MSN Direct is useless here in Canada as it is not supported in almost the entire country, with the exception of Toronto. As far as having it tilted so that you can see the sky, yes, turn off auto zoom in the settings and then use the up/down buttons when you touch the screen, and it should stay at that point.I tried to look at the Best Buy specials, but it says that the site is closed down. Hmmm, either they forgot to pay the bill or it is a smart marketing ploy.....' lets not tell them what the specials are so they can figure it out! '

Yep, or you can leave smartzoom on and adjust the settings to show sky. Put the tilt sliders at max. The would be if you like smartzoom (which personally I do).

The amount of POIs may depend on whether you are running NavTeq or TeleAtlas POI files. Just a thought.

I think I would have to take it for a test drive to see how I like it. Where would that screen be? Would it be another extra or replace something?

The squares are a distance to next manuver meter. The yellow goes down as you get closer to the turn. Happens from around 1000ft to 0.

This would be another addition. Pretty much would make the extras menu full.

Alex, that new screen looks excellent. I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Really nice. I personally would prefer the screens switched (map on right) or the option to do so. Then again, I would probably get used to it.

Would this be the primary map display or an alt?

You know my thinking Alex. I love add-ons. The more settings to fine tune and play with, the better. I'll try anything. How about a fuel consumption scale? Just kidding. I think it's amazing you can come up with something else after it's so great already. Keep playing. I'm for it. And thanks.

Hi Diaftia there an error in your archive 2.1 EU version. The file is not sys.txt users Euro

Happy holidays to you!. Your latest mod is absolutely terrific. It makes the Avic what it should have been in the first place.

I have one small request or question. The color of the speedcam information is very difficult for me to see. I am using the Pioneer background which has been modified and it just blends into to the point where it is difficult for me to see.

I will change the color my self if you can tell me where to find the parameters to change it. If I can modify this, you upgrade would be flawless IMHO.

Does this mod ONLY work with the avic version 3 update already installed? Has anyone had success with any other firmware versions?

mod for versions 3.xxxxxx or 2.xxxxxx are not compatible.

Navigation system is different, in vers 2.xxxxxx is iGo8.0xxx and in vers 3.xxxxxx is iGo8.3xxx.

Could you make it an option so we could try it out? If not possible, then you might have to split it off into version 3. Right now, version 2 is pretty close to perfect for me.
