Any news on when this will be available to us Canadians?

It's not on the Canadian Pioneer website...

It will play media just not very well.

Perfectly servicable for me. I use a 16GB card to hold videos and untagged / improperly tagged music that I want to listen to.

Your the exception. There is almost 100% complaints about trying to get video to play properly on these units from SD or USB.

Ames heh. I'm in Carroll :P

Yeah I used it for the same purpose only I got a 128gb vertion and play videos whithout no problems. Have close to 53gb of music and rest of videos I got like 14 movies. I do have to format the videos almost all the time, but no big deal . Sometimes you need to have a fast acting sd card otherwise it may lagg a bit. Don't really use the usb port iphone Who needs one when you got the Droid from Motorola, which by the way you get all the updates for free lol.

Do you have the 920 or the 120?

If you're able to use a 128GB SD Card, and not always format the video, then they must have done some extensive changes with the SD Card functionality....

I don't get one you guys mean by formatting the videos. I put movies on my sd card and play them all the time they are just regular avi divx

Wrong terminology is all... By formatting, we're talking about encoding them...

You have to encode them to make them AVI or DIVX...

You can't just buy a DVD...drop it's contents(TS) onto a SD card, and have it play...

You also must encode them, so that they are the right size to fit the Avic's screen correctly... otherwise, it looks like cheet

I really want this upgrade strictly for the updated map. I haven't had any problems with the nav for my 110, but lately it's been leading me to vacant lots, dead ends and locations that are at least a mile away from my destination. I tried to take a friend to the range rover dealer last weekend and were close, but still about a mile or 2 away. He then proceeded to whip out his droid and embarass me lol.

What I want to know is how does his smatphone gps show up my 110? I have msn direct, so shouldn't I always be able to update my maps with ease? Tom Tom barely charges you $60 for the year to upgrade your maps and garmin charges you $119. They really should have had a seperate strictly maps upgrade that I'm sure would cost way less. "I" simply don't need all that other stuff.

I have the same problem. may somebody please expand on this?

the nav often takes you to different location than specified, although the streets and present position is displayed correctly. This seems to be a problem with all BT series navs: I had this problem with U310, had the unit replaced with a new one, the new one had the same problem. Now I have 110BT and it has the same problem still.

Prior to that I had a Z3, the Z3 used to be as precise as the space rocket programmed to land on Mars.

If this is not addressed in the present upgrade, some one must bring this out to Pioneer (I did but what could one do...)

Like he said, it is indeed really embarrassing having people in your car witnessing this happening and having a laugh at it.

The 310 and 110/120 share the same navi software so it is no surprise that you would see the same problem. These complaints have been issued about every Pioneer navi I've seen sense the D3 however. Doesn't seem that Pioneer is to concerned about it. That being said, the 110/120 should still get you where you want to go however.

Mine will get me where I want to going (ie...to the actual location)... But I've seen it on many occasions take down retarded routes... No matter if I tweak the preferences, it'll often route me through scenic routes....

Although, inner-city.... it's spot on....

I'm getting so restless I wish it would ship out already :-( It's been a week since I ordered this thing.

ah I see, I mostly torrent my movies so they tend to already come properly encoded. I did not realize the screen size makes a differences however now that i've been trying you guy are right unit seems to be quite picky about what it wants to play.

Still "awaiting shipment" Those suckers are heavy and big apparently.

Posted Jun 17, 2010 · 01:53 UTC#142

I agree. They indicated to me tht it should ship by Wednesday. Well they missed that deadline. I was looking at my order history and when I bought my upgrade for my F Series last year in 2009, I ordered it on July 6th and it finally shipped August 10th. I remember them telling me the same thing, and they were waiting for them to come in and they would ship 2 days later. That one took over a month.

What upsets me, is that they take orders like they are in stock and make you wait. I wish they should have just done a "pre-sale" thing until the items are actually in stock rather than make us think they were in and ready to ship.

My 2 cents... I am stepping down off the soapbox now. :)

Posted Jun 17, 2010 · 06:58 UTC#144

is it likely that the update will restore the unit back to default settings ie will have to re-pair the phone and redo the eq settings etc etc? :(

Posted Jun 17, 2010 · 16:37 UTC#145

Not yet. We are still waiting for them to arrive. Should be any day now.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience!

Have a great day,

This is in direct conflict with an email someone else posted that they arrived......

Now who do we believe? 33 minutes ago they didn't have them and now they do...just like yesterday.

What a company.

Ok, the latest word...

They will ship at the start of NEXT week...for sure I was told.

Posted Jun 17, 2010 · 21:49 UTC#150

Hopefully they are squeezing in the BT/VR fix into it, prior to shipping....

I won't hold my breathe though....
