Was able to update my X920BT to the 2013 maps (5.0 firmware, and 3.32 BT firmware) but has anybody been able to update the X920BT to firmware 5.1?  I wrote the contents of the file AVIC-X940BT_FW-Update-v5.100.zip to the a FAT32 formatted Micro SD card and the unit reboots to the UCOM screen just fine.   When I select and chose "System uCom Write", i'm unable to continue because the next screen just shows [ --------- ] on the SD card instead of 8.05 (the uCom has 8.01).

Seems as if the updater is checking to see if I have a X940 (and looking at a different folder).

Hmmm, wasn't able to to the System uCom write but the APP VERSION is 5.1 on my setup.   So I guess the first part of it did work before the uCom screen came up.

Just so I understand completely....

I have a Z110BT that is upgraded to the Z130BT. Are these 2013 maps equivalent to the Z140BT where the map VR is lost.

Service Info Screen shows version is currently 3.000 and the bluetooth firmware is currently 3.22.

I read in another post that the bluetooth fw update, even to just version 3.24 provides some added options and am wondering if it was just possible to update the bluetooth only assuming that does not affect the VR.

Yes, you'll loose NAV VR. You can try just the BT firmware. If you don't like, it is easy to back out (if you have your old v3.0 upgrade SD). The BT update function will let you install older versions.  I doubt you'll see any new functionality - just bug fixes and maybe broader phone support. To just D/L new BT, get the 5.1 update and copy only the /Firmware folder to the SD. You probably know the rest.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction is really appreciate if.

I updated my x920BT, and also updated the BT firmware and everything went perfect.

These past few days I've noticed that my GPS is way off, sometimes even assuming I'm on entirely different road. I've tried searching oh how to calibrate the gps location, I've tried to troubleshoot the antenna, but have had no luck.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having navigation when it doesn't work. 😢

I've read through a couple threads and it seems no one has faced this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Where can the 5.1 firmware update be found?

Is there a nag screen bypass for 5.1?

Thank you!  I just donated to this great cause!  I wish Pioneer would make it easier and more affordable to keep our NAVs up to date.  I certainly am not made of money and believe when you pay over $700 for a head unit, it should update automatically... :-)  maybe someday.  Until then, thanks to all you who investigate ways to program and make our NAVs work.

Anyone have an issue with the image from the rear view camera disappearing with this update? May be a coincidence, the grid now appears, but my video from my rear view camera is gone. I did check the settings for polarity. *EDIT* it was a coincidence.

Just cant get this to work on my x920bt. it will make it about 30% then say incorrect sd card and get stuck until i go to test mode and delete the startknd file then i can get it working but gps says no connection and map shows a red background.

i tried extracting with winrar and winzip, formatted using windows (16kb clusters)and another format utility recommended in a different thread. tried a 16gb and a 32gb and same problem. going to try again tomorrow after work with another card unless anyone has any other ideas.

Ya i didnt think it would since its corrupted now or so it seems. My bluetooth quit working a while back so i thought maybe thats why it fails at 33% everytime.

Will this work on the AVIC-X850BT

THANK YOU SOO MUCH FOR THIS!

Updated my maps and fixed my bluetooth!

I tried doing the recommended bluetooth update thru pioneer last year and it totally killed my bluetooth and pioneer wanted to charge me $200 to fix it.

Yeah pay them $200 cuz they messed up my bluetooth wwwhack

This saved me a lot of money I will definitely donate on my next paycheck :D

@ armyguy

No, the x50 models are different hardware. I don't even know why they are included in this forum. Besides, I believe your maps are the same as this. This release is pretty old by now.

I was finally able to complete the update. It must have been a problem with the micro sd adapter i was using because when i put the sd card in my phone and copied the files over it updated no problem. No bluetooth still though, when i go to the hidden screen on the service info screen it shows bluetooth firmware version as ----. when i try to update the bluetooth seperately it errors out after 5 min or so. Im thinking the hardware for the bluetooth died, i ended up just buying a new head unit anyways but i might send this in for repair and keep it as a spare or just sell it to someone who wants to fix

Thank you. I just did the update on my z140bh, but was disappointed to see that there was no difference in the navi interface. I hope one day someone will be able to find a way to some how update this unit to avic z150.

I'm having issues with the dowanload. It gets to the end and say download interrupted. Anyone have a similar issue or any tips?

Posted Nov 09, 2014 · 23:40 UTC#223

I was having trouble downloading the update too. The download would stop and it would say some network error. But then I tried my father in laws laptop and it worked. So may be if possible try a different laptop or use a differnt browser than what u r getting the error with.

tried 3 different browsers. same issue

Worked for me. I just d/l with IE 11. Must be you.  You're not d/l directly to the SD are you? Also make sure you've got plenty of disk space.
