You should not start synctool after connection with your usb-stick.

After starting your unit you must connect your usb-stick which you did prepare as it was described on page 10 from ASD255 to USB1 from your unit,

After a short time your unit will reboot into the testmode.

At the menu point File Maintenance  you can enter the Filesystem and navigate to the folder speedcam from linuxroot to copy the SpeedcamUpdates.spd into this folder.

The filename must be exactly written as i did it.

After this you have to disconnect your stick and reboot your unit.

Caution, do not erase anything  to prevent a brick of your unit.

If you are not strong in managing filesystems let do this better by an IT-specialist.

Which unit do u have?? Maps u can't find at gpspower site. And speedcam here, it should be speedcam.sdb

Oh oke,

1st copy the script and the file that u want copy in your unit into sd card or usb.

2de connect SD/USB in to your unit.

3rd start your unit.. Between 20 a 30 sec, your unit will restart to DOS(ish) screen. With your volumes and prev and rew buttons, u can navigate the settings.

4th navigate to file maintenance and select the your SD or usb... Use your buttons for copy and paste...

Anytime, u can see the usb as Windows boot cd... About the maps I don't know...

This may be a long shot but I'm going to try. I updated my 7000nex to 1.11. Everything seemed to be working until I went to use nav. The nav looks like it is loading then the screen goes back to the main menu. I contacted Poineer and they said the only way to fix is to send it to them. That is crazy! Pay to have it taken out, shipped, fixed, shipped back, and then reinstalled! I have been reading through this thread and it seems like you guys might be able to help me. I'm not looking to change anything, I just want my nav back.

Side note: I did try to go back to 1.10 to no avail

I've read through so many threads on this stuff but am really confused.

 

Does someone have the 8100NEX and successfully got the USA/Canada Q3 update installed?

 

If so could you please PM me how exactly you did it?

2. x100_1.05_9.18.28.610130

3. A whole bunch of USA/Canada Q3 content and a bunch of licenses

4. I've have the following folder structure:

 

MapPackage-->Updates-->Content-->

-building

-fjw

-fpa

-ftr

-map

-poi

 

 

I'm not sure what else I need and I'm not sure I have all of the required licenses...

Take the x100_1.05_9.18.28.610130 folder and put your Update file with the content folder with the diff folders( Put the Lic folder at same level as content.) on the usb key in usb1.  The test key in the patch script(no need to apply the patch again) will get you in, then dig down file maint/root/exdata/igo. I copied my content and lic file off the unit to the usb1. Then I deleted them off the unit. Then I copied the Q3 content and lic file from the usb1 to the unit.

Hello all!!  Just stumbled into this forum, and I must say, awesome work!!!!!

I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on buying the NEX8100. Now that 8200 came out, the gauges are of interest to me, would I be able to view A/C temperature and settings? Will the 8100 be able to run the new features the 8200 brought?

i feel stupid because i had no issues with my f90bt and updted it into the next gen software, plus added maps for europe and all that. im stumbling with this one. how do you get into testmode?
