A Feb manufacture date and a July release date doesn't surprise me. There's lots of times we have something ready to sell, but it doesn't get put on the market for months for one reason or another. I suspect July is a magic time for people to think about summer travel.

That was last year's disk. The D3 was a new model then.

The mod works fine with my D3 in my Toyota. Display changes to night mode perfectly too. I thought it was an easy install. The hard part was asking for help here to find the vss wire. Still need to find the backup wire, but don't need that just yet.

I searched and didn't find 2005 Rav4 and didn't see it on the external link posted in another thread. I could use VSS and reverse signal, please.

I use Svcd2Dvd, then burn with Nero.

I thought it was a very easy install. The hard part is finding the VSS and backup wires and picking a location for the gps antenna.

I have an '05 Toyota Rav4 with daylight running lights similar to yours. My D3, which I installed myself, properly dims the display. All the wires I soldered from my Toyota harness to my D3 harness were similarly colored (red to red, yellow to yellow, etc) and the D3 illumination wire is orange/white, would have been connected to the orange wire on the Toyota harness. I bet if you pulled your D3 and checked the wires, your orange/white wire is connected to a differently colored wire.
