  1. there are two power wires at almost every ignition switch in cars. one the accessory in most vehicles loses power during crank. the other which is actually an ignition wire remains at 12v during crank. instead of wiring relays, just run a fused wire to the ign switch and find the wire that maintains power during crank. i appreciate relays and diodes, but fuse holders and 18-14 ga wire is less expensive.
  2. the factory remote start doesn't power up the accessory circuits just the ignition circuits. there is no acc wire required for remote start as well as i think there factory start is controlled through can bus. one thing to try is move the radios red wire to the ignition switch it just may work.
  3. if you change the rca's around and the noise follows the rca's try changin those first. if its just on the 2 channels its prob the amp. i dont believe its the pico fuse cuz all channels would have noise. make sure your amp ground is to metal and not paint or a seat belt as well.
  4. first you tell us what you have installed including wire routing locations and grounding points type of harness used and anything you can think of
  5. there is a way to update the chto01 through a cable from metra. also, try the chto013. check the potentiometer on the side and make sure its turned up to match the voltage from the radio.
  6. pacswican and pacswips are the modules however if they didnt fix the software it wont work too well.
  7. u know what harness they used? sounds like a harness issue!
  8. there are several schools for installation and such, however they will only give you a foundation. ive heard good things about ritop in boston and the installer institute in florida. my biggest advice to you is get that foundation, but most skills will come from repetition and hands on approach. i started by working on my own car and friends cars doing basic installs and now can do about anything. in this field, like computers and stuff like that you have to keep learning and its always gunna be an ongoing process. best of luck to you.
  9. you can program those buttons for preset up and down, or just hold the button for a sec and the next station that comes in will come on....for the volume thing sounds like you need it to either be reprogrammed or if resistors were needed might need a closer tolerance.
  10. looks good, the weather reporter too and she also looks like she is having a little too much fun with herself.
  11. try updating your phone *228 option 2. also try pairing from both the phone and the unit. also there is a reset button on the bluetooth unit itself. hope this helps a little.
  12. doesnt always work but try resetting the bluetooth module. also if you havent tried already, clear the device and pair it the opposite way you did b4 like if you paired from the phone, pair it from the radio this time or vice versa.
  13. if you are geting a noise through your speakers when you take it apart let us know whether its hooked up through hi-level speaker leads or low-level rca's. also let us know whether you have the bose symphony system or base system. also whether the amps are bypassed or integrated that can help us give you a clue how to go about fixing the sound.
  14. after u pair the unit register it and you will get all the features
  15. if it isnt gm lan id use the metra gmos04 its a low level harness for amplified class II systems just a standard harness will overdrive your monsoon amp. the harness is more expensive but it does the job well. it also retains onstar if u got it.
  16. try the 95-7417 that is the trim ring kit.if you wanna make your own kit but don't wanna bother cutting plastic then use a black carpet and fold it in half then tape it around the outside of the radio. i did this until i could fabricate trim pieces better whild i was learning to install. and it really looks ok whenits done evenly.
  17. metra makes a small trim ring that goes around the radio and makes it fit. forget the model number off top of my head but its on metraonline.com
  18. if you didnt buy the jetwaremobile software on ur blackberry go to a the site on ur phone and download it it has worked on every single pda phone for bluetooth jetwaremobile.com and dl the appropriate version
  19. what kind of harness did you use?
  20. the few hd radio tuners ive put on d3's and z2/3's have displayed titles(rds style features). I believe the multicasting is 2 or 3 staions over the same band like 93.7 93.75 and such not sure never looked into that
  21. not sure if this will help but if u have steering wheel controls and you don't have the steering wheel control red(acc) wire with the red(acc) wire on the f series unit it will sometimes hop through stations as the radio retains power and the swc interface shuts off.
  22. if you use rear monitor out you will have no problems
  23. my only guess is when you put your car into park its pinching the p-bus or power for your peripherals. if you located or the nstaller located the wiring or modules down that way sometimes the wires can get pinched if routed/mounted in a bad location. the ipod and swc run off separate plugs on back of radio the btb100 and sirius work off the same p-bus connection. i'd start there. what kind of car?
  24. update your phone software. i think you dial *228 send option 1 or 2. my lg phone didnt work for the longest time but it finally got cleared up. now it works fine.
  25. it only stops the signal going throught the rca's if it cut power to the remote wire and you had a 4-channel amp running your high's they would then shut off as well.
