  1. So, I bought a 7000 NEX last week. It was used and it was missing the microphone. I alaready had a Kenwood Bluetooth radio installed, so I removed the radio and used the mic that came with the Kenwood. I had to buy a 3.5 female to 2.5mm male recucer to plug in to the mic. The problem is nobody can understand me. Siri can't understand me. I have to practically scream to become clear. Is this because of the reducer? Do I need a complete 2.5 mm microphone without reducer? Is this why the quality is so bad?
  2. You saying that is the only reason it is not working?
  3. I am trying to do the upgrade. At the end of the copy, I reset for 5 seconds, and I get this message on the screen. What does this mean? How do I fix it?
  4. Guys, I apologize in advance, I have not mastered the manipulation of the F series Avic. I would really appreciate it if you can help me wit this upgrade. I' followed the instructions to the letter, and after I reboot for 5 seconds, the splash screen comes on, then the unit goes black. I can hear it running, but nothing on then screen .will someone please help me out.
  5. I just performed the 3.0 upgrade, but the unit is not in my vehicle. I am using my 12v bench tester. I have the red and yellow wires attached to the positive, and the the ground attached to the negative. This allows me to test radios. I have three F700BT's I picked up pretty cheap. I followed the directions to the letter. At the end when it was done, I ejected the SD card, held the reset button for 5 seconds. The splash screen came up, then went black, and stay that way. Did I do something wrong?
  6. Did the upgrade, got error message Application AV has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. What does that mean?
  7. I paid for my upgrade two days ago. The email I got from Pioneer seemed like they were going to ship it.
  8. My MUTE/ATT button is grayed out, on my new F7010 and I can't set the navigation voice to talk over the music. How do I get this button ungrayed?
  9. The screen in my daughter's F700 stop displaying today. Music still plays, but I can't switch between the map and AV menu. The display that says when your mobile phone is connected shows on the screen though. What's happening here? Anything I can do to remedy this?
  10. Why on earth would you even want to consider using a CD-IB100? Theoretically it would work. With that meaning you would not get the graphic visual interface that the CD-IU50V will give you.
  11. Installed a D3 in my daughter's best friend's car. I first installed it using the factory radio brackets. I soon realized that I had to get Metra kit to get it to fit nicely. I like the way it has a stock look.
  12. I installed an F700BT in my buddies Hummer today. I don't like the way the Metra kit fit though, but all in all, it was a pretty easy install.

    Pictures?

No. You can only use the SD Slot or USB cable to choose pictures for your Splash screen.
  14. You don't need the illumination wire. Adjust your brightness settings through the menu settings. It's in your book.
  15. I assume you used a harness for your specific vehicle. I will also assume that you butt connected the wires matching the colors. Right? With that said, perhaps you don't have a good crimp on one of your speaker wires. Pull the unit and check your connections.
  16. Did your installer use the GMOS 04? Souns like the accessory wire is not connected.
  17. When I was talking to Pioneer, trying to figure out the Gremlins on my first unit, Kevin the trouble shoot tech told me that in the D1's and D2's the VSS wire was necessary. Even though the wire is on the harness, it wouldn't hurt not to use it. He also told me that Al and Eds Autosound, their authorized distributor don't connect it either. He all but in so many words told me not to expect that wire on future models. Remember, Tom Toms and Garmins don't have have any such VSS wire.
  18. If you are going to us a reverse camera, Just tap wire for the reverse lights, and run that all the way up to the radio. You have to have a 25 ft RCA anyway.
  19. The U310BT is ok, but the screen is to small.
  20. Sounds like you got a dud. Happens. I had one as well.
  21. The pulse wire doesn't need to be used.
  22. You cannot just buy a trim ring piece. What you should've done was buy Metra Kit 99-7871. There is also 99-7871T for Taupe color. This is what it looks like. Search it online. They cost around $35.00 I did an installation of a single din radio in a customer's car two months ago, and I used this kit. This is what it looks like. I am pretty sure the dealer piece is probably a little bit more. The problem is the dealer piece is a meant for a factory replacement or upgrade to a factory navigation.
