  1. Al & eds = authorized dealer = valid 2 year manufacturer's warranty Globazar (sold through Amazon) = not authorized dealer = no warranty Is paying 5% less worth throwing away a 2 year manufacturer's warranty? i dont see al-ed on pioneers authorized dealer list. However i do see amazon.com Yes, Al & Eds is an authorized dealer. Amazon might be on their list, but you are not buying if FROM Amazon, you are buying if from another company, THROUGH Amazon.
  2. 1. Click the "SEARCH" link at the top of the page 2. Type in "PNR1" 3. Select "PIONEER AVIC-D1/D2/D3" from the category box 4. Click the "search" button 5. Do some reading
  3. Please! And STOP PM'ING ME ASKING IF I MAKE/SELL COPIES OF OR WILL SEED A TORRENT FOR THE NEW DISK! I don't even have a fucking D3, let alone the disks for one. Ridiculous people. Leave me the hell alone.

  6. 1 - This is the F-series board. 2 - Look on the D-series board. 3 - Look in the classifieds section. 4 - Go to pioneer and buy one 5 - Now that the disks are for sale somebody here is bound to put one up on a torrent in the future. Keep an eye on the D-series board for that.
  7. That is true. The for price of the unit plus amount you would need to spend to fix it (or have it fixed) you could just buy a working D3 or even a new F700. The only drawback is that the 700 doesn't play DVD's, only CD's.
  8. Well if it won't play any disks, the unit is pretty useless. You can't use the nav either if that is the case. If it turns out the drive needs replacement, you will have to send it in to Pioneer and they will charge you at least their $200 out of warranty service/repair charge. However, if you can find another D3 with a working drive for cheap (maybe because of a cracked screen or something) you can swap them out of you have the know-how to do it yourself. But IMO, it's not worth buying.
  9. Did you make a backup copy of the original file before you modified it and put it on the unit? If you did, swap that one back in there and see if it fixes it. Then we'll go from there.

    not dead on

My antenna is INSIDE my dashboard and I get great signal. Enough that the navigation is never off, even by a little bit.

    F series Recall

Haven't heard anything about a recall... I guess we'll have to wait and see. Could always be option C: The guy is talking out his ass...
  13. STOP MAKING NEW TOPICS ASKING FOR THE SAME GOD DAMN THING. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17920 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17929 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17936 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18006 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18012 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18024 Go to one of the instruction topics for either of the bypass methods and ask there.

    wire harness

There are two harnesses. The black one holds all the power and speaker wires. The white one holds all the RCA inputs and outputs, which is the one with the mute wire on it and is the one you use to do the bypass. If you do not have that white harness with all the RCA cables on it, you cannot do the bypass. What is this, like the 5th or 6th topic you've made asking for help about the bypass? You've been told multiple times already, the topics for both the hardware and the software bypasses have more than enough information to be able to do it.

    ByPass

There are 3 topics about how to do the hardware bypass and 1 topic about how to do the software bypass. Open one of them up and read the directions. They are both rather simple.
  17. I'd rather have a D3 in my dash than an F500 on my dash... you can probably find both for around that price. If you can actually find a D3, that is.
  18. 1 - Put all of them on a CD-R 2 - Put the CD-R in your glove box 3 - Change the background every now and then
  19. Yes. Your car's antenna plugs into the female end and one male end plugs into each of the two units.
  20. No current firmware updates address the boot up time.
  21. Yes. BTW those tap-in connectors are crap... Sometimes they don't pierce the wire all the way and don't make a good connection. I usually tie each wire into a good chassis bolt or screw to make sure the ground is good.
  22. I don't know WHAT you did wrong, but I can tell you that you did indeed do something wrong, or else those options would not be greyed out. I'm also willing to bet that if you stuck a DVD movie in there that it wouldn't play the video from it. Three things needed for the bypass: 1 - ground the green parking brake wire 2 - ground the black/yellow mute wire 3 - relocate that black/yellow mute wire to the empty slot adjacent to it on the AV wiring harness. MAKE SURE IT IS SEATED IN THE HARNESS FIRMLY AND PROPERLY. If you do all 3 of those things correctly, the bypass is 100% guaranteed
  23. Or it could make the parking brake warning message come up all the time, even when going zero miles per hour. But it won't hurt to try it out.
