LOL Now Boris, how can you compare the iPhone to the Razr? Let's do apples to apples now... no pun intended!
-
Jay, did not even realize when I responded that this was who I was responding to... did you get the unit installed on your GTI? How did the kit work out for you? I see you already have the modding bug...
-
Read page one of this thread... there is a link that will tell you what you need to know. Will, thanks for the response... like I said, it does not hurt functionality, just annoying to look at. I'll be sure to let you know if I figure it out.

Those phones are good phones because of the iphone, they had to be to compete. They would still be simple cell phones right now if it weren't for the iphone. And non of those phones, even the new blackberry are going to touch the iphone in sales. Apple now has the best selling phone in a little over a year up against phone companies that have been doing this for many more years, there is a reason why, because they make better products, period. I could not have said it better myself!

XM channel logos stored on unit, can you update them?
wonderdiva replied to cranbers's topic in Hacks/Mods
Here is the XM file... XM.zip -
For now Maramski I am borrowing a picture of your Vista theme for just an example and will post a pic when I can of mine, but for some reason the back arrow in the top right corner now extends all the way over instead of there being a black space to the right of the button, like it is trying to duplicate the button and you only see part of it. I am not sure why as I configured everything exactly as it should be to the best of my knowledge. It does not hurt the functionality, but it does annoy me. LOL Any ideas? I will post a picture once I can get some of my theme later today. Any help from an

XM channel logos stored on unit, can you update them?
wonderdiva replied to cranbers's topic in Hacks/Mods
The images are stored on your unit, XM only transmits the channel name, song title, and artist... if there is not a logo on the unit that goes along with the channel name then it defaults to displaying the generic sattelite. -
GM Factory Mounted Antenna
wonderdiva replied to J-Man's topic in XM/Sirius/HD Radio and Traffic Receivers
I'd love to know where to get the extension because I my XM wire is under my passenger seat and it is a dual lead, so I am not sure how to hook it up but would love to get it moved to there instead of using the antenna that came with the XM unit. I got MUCH better reception on my OEM radio with XM than I do with this antenna. -
XM channel logos stored on unit, can you update them?
wonderdiva replied to cranbers's topic in Hacks/Mods
I called XM simply to see if there was a file or a webpage that I could obtain that had high quality clips of the new logos and for the 'inconvenience' I got 5 months of free service. I wasn't even a jerk about it. Now THAT is customer service! -
My Flash Disk/APL2/iGo

Yes, you need to rezip it and name it DATA.ZIP and be sure to pull it from that folder; otherwise the system will get confused and either a: You can't get rid of the startup message or b: It could possibly reboot nonstop.

HOW TO: Add Branded POI icons :UPDATED: 04-21-09
wonderdiva replied to VBLUE42's topic in Hacks/Mods
I agree... mine did not show those until the 2.0 update. Also, it is very sporadic as they do not always appear. Another great AVIC F Series mystery! -
I am very interested to know where this information is coming from...

vehicle dynamics show my truck pointing wrong direction
wonderdiva replied to jtbmoore's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
It will learn the more you drive. You can see how far along it is in the process by going into the system settings... it will give you 3D, speed, distance, etc... It took my D3 a good 3k miles before it filled all the bars but it was dead on accurate. -
Phone voice dialing, definately. I'm upgrading from an AVIC-D2 for that reason pretty much. The Kenwood has a BT module that works. I'm primarily interested in the Kenwood solely for the Garmin software, otherwise I'd go with Pioneer. Any thoughts on this?? I honestly prefer Garmin's nav software but I use the nav portion so little to get where I am going that I could not base my purchase on that... iGo is getting me where I need to go and since changing up the nav screen to look clean and organized, I am happy with it.

Mine works almost flawlessly... *knock on wood*

x2 After having the ability to voice dial and play my iPod by simply speaking, it would be hard to go back. Keep in mind I use my iPod as my primary music source in the car and have 7k+ songs, so it makes it VERY convenient for me. Is the unit perfect? By ALL means no... is it functional to the point I can live with it and enjoy using it? Yes. Had you asked me before the 2.0 update you may have gotten a much different answer.

Nevermind... my silly mistake!

This is the image I am trying to use and the Alpha channel looks correct based on my comparison to other .bmp images I pulled from the Data file. daycar.bmp.zip

Hey I found this clock that might help you. No need to thank me. LOL Now now...

x2 Valiant effort and appreciated, but to everyone using this ALWAYS use caution modding if you are unsure of what you are doing!

I don't have the arrow in 2D mode (just the ghost/shadow) so I would like to know how to fix this... going to look in the files and see what I can find but any advice would be appreciated.

i also like this one too aswell but when the ipod is connected and you are navigating the Stop Route button gets covered with the Ipod Album art, is there away to move the Album Art screen? No, you need to adjust the x and y axis for the Stop Nav & Voice Mute button so that they are to the left of the compass. This is located inside of the .ui file. I am still teaching myself the ins and outs of it all but have the basics down.
