Yeah, I keep waiting on the update myself. I took the plunge and replaced my D3 with the F90 because of the potential the unit has... that being said, I am losing patience with it. It is so freaking buggy... I can deal with the startup time but the constant iPod failure and bugs when using VR are getting old VERY quickly. They know it is screwed up... you would think with the holiday season around the bend that they would fix it already so that they can move some units.

CMIYC, you can get Adobe Photoshop Elements for Mac or PC for less than $100 and it provides a LOT of the same functionality... I have been using it since version 3 and it up to 7 or 8 now I believe. Great program for a fraction of the price. I believe you can download a trial from www.adobe.com

VW MkV GTI here... I attempted a couple of changes and don't completely suck at Photoshop but also not skilled enough to put something together that looks good enough for icon use. As CMIYC stated, no rush at all... I appreciate it that you even consider it. I am looking forward to seeing the MAC theme and the Vista one looks amazing. Great work!

I have heard similiar from Pioneer twice within less than a week when I have called... they did not give a time frame, however they said they are well aware of the MANY problems and that they are getting a bad rep for it so they are very commited to fixing it and are working hard at an update. I do not want to get my hopes up for a time frame though but that would be kick ass if it is available within the next week.

Definitely faster than the D3. They added a search by alphabet feature this go around... also, keep in mind that if you use the VR cataloging then you can use the voice recognition to play whatever album artist, genre or playlist that you would like.

Thanks for posting the solution of removing the (xxx)xxx-xxxx format... I finally have voice dialing working on my iPhone 3G ad could not be happier with the performance of it... now if they could fix all of the other bugs.

I have to disagree with you. I've had a D3 for the past year (just got the F90) and had the original iPhone and the 3G and they worked FLAWLESSLY & connected instantly upon turning on the car.

Hey there... I tried that and unfortunately a no go. I also went in to the phone settings on the F90, deleted the phone pairing, and then deleted it on the 3G. I changed the contacts settings on the 3G to switch the name order and then retransferred the phone book so that it showed up the way I wanted to speak it and still no luck. I dunno... ?

I called Pioneer last night and although the guy was a jerk, he did say that they have an update in the pipelines that should be out in the next several weeks. He then went on to say that they have a lot riding on the F series and that there will be updates beyond that one in the coming year. ???

So I had my F90BT installed today and am getting the hang of it and don't see it as being as bad as some people make it out to be; however I do have a few issues. Can someone please shed some light and let me know if it is just me or a problem in general? -iPod is either not connecting or is locking up when the car is turned off and then back on. -VR works GREAT for the iPod, BUT even though it imported my contacts flawlessly it will not dial by name (and I have tried a LOT of different contacts) but it will dial if I speak the number. Pioneer rep said it is the iPhone 3G but I swear I

Pioneer's website states that there is a blue dot next to the serial number AS WELL as on the back of the unit itself, however, mine only had the blue dot on the box and was an updated unit. It was also dated May 2008.

I think that would be great... I am no computer programmer but I can hold my own as being a tech geek. However, I can see people bricking their systems... I think we are all prone to that happening if we mess with the wrong files. I am looking forward to getting the data file and poking around to see what I can find.

I just got an iPhone and thought I would keep mu numbers from my A1200 in the D3 and use the iPhone, but the phonebook is linked with the phone you register. When I put my iPhone as my main registered phone, I lost my entire phonebook but did figure out the SET option. Not really a big deal to me until they come up with an update.
