  1. the a/v adapter plugs into your phone, your usb end of your lightning cable plugs into your usb outlet then the lightning end plugs into you a/v adapter, right beside your HDMI. You cannot have CarPlay and Appradio hooked up at the same time. Carplay hooks up by lightning cable only. Smartphone settings has to be set to usb and CarPlay enabled. AppRadio uses A/V adapter for audio and video and connects by bluetooth, and smartphone setting has to be set to digital adapter. If you are using the A/V adapter, usb1 will only be used to charge the phone, and cannot be used as an input source, it wi
  2. please post a pic of this. I can't find anything about dip switches in relation to any NEX unit.
  3. Fortunately for me, unlimited data plan. iPhone is 64gb. I do like having any song my mood desires to hear, available.
  4. The only way i got around it, was having all my songs on iTunes match, and my phone hooked up to usb1.(although iTunes match limits to 25000 songs) I think if you are going to hook up a phone to one usb port, put limit on sdcard, and limit on solid state drive and have 30000 songs available. That is the only way I can see. If you use google music, the limit is 50000 songs.
  5. What dip switches are you referring to? on the back of what?
  6. AdamOuler, bass_rock, whatisbypass, you guys rock.
  7. You are missing nothing, that is just the way the head unit works. unfortunately.
  8. The reverse camera over rules all inputs, this means that if it stays on, the reverse wire is still getting a signal. You are going to have to check and see if the reverse wire you have hooked up to the violet/white wire, in fact only is powered when in reverse, and looses power when in any other position.
  9. It does if it is in the metadata(or whatever it is called)
  10. I will attempt to answer what I can. Don't assume anything. We need to know, what vehicle you are installing into first. Some vehicles, the reverse camera will work with adapter, same with the USB inputs, and the aux input. Some need an adapter like the Maestro RR for all to work. I would research here what other forum members have had success with. HDMI can be used as input for AppRadio thru you phone(using A/V adapter for IPhone, or MHL adapter for Android.) bear in mind, if you are going to use CarPlay or Android Auto, you will not use HDMI. USB1 is for iPhone, USB2 for Android. You can ho
  11. I can't see NEX map updates not being available, heck at the price you have to pay for an update, they would be missing that revenue. Now we know why AVICSYNC is still not available. (theory)
  12. Could be he deleted them himself, normally if deleted by moderator, it just will disappear.
  13. You can browse your music by Artist, Album, Song, Genre. file limit for usb, Sdcard are 15000 files, 1500 folders. You can choose random or alphabetical order, and you can choose repeat. NEX will not choke on your iPod, it will just swallow it. (joking) Besides you will have at your disposal, 2 usb ports, 1 hdmi input, 2 aux inputs, SDcard. Full of optional inputs.
  14. To the OP of this thread, I have tried so many variations in the last 1 1/2 years with my NEX I ended up running this. I have 20000+ mp3 song on iTunes match, and iPhone6 64gb phone hooked up to usb1, 200+ movies on 256gb SDcard, 480gb SSD hooked up to usb2 with 64gb of my favorite songs in FLAC format, another 200 movies in mp4, as i rip more DVDs, will add to SSD. I do not use CarPlay, and have phone calls thru BT. CarPlay will not allow the movies to play on the headrest monitors(except DVDs and I don't put DVDs in the car) So I have all my songs, movies available at a touch. PS. I also
  15. Pioneer CD-RM10 aux cable, get original pioneer part, Ebay has them for 10.00 or so. The flush mount usb are great, run both. Any Quality HDMI cable(don't buy the pioneer, way too expensive You are correct, pre-wire all the inputs to console or glove box for future use. A/V input is only RCA, You should end up with RCA inputs for aux, RCA inputs for A/V, HDMI, 2 USB. If you have a solid state drive lying around, get an enclosure, fill it with music and or videos and hook up to the usb you do not have your phone hooked up to. Get a quality SDcard, largest you can afford, format it to fa
  16. Yes, i looked at your photo bucket pic and that is the right one, it needs a signal for the head unit to go into reverse camera mode.
  17. I should have said the first load could take up to 20 minutes or longer, depending on how many files you have. After that it usually takes up to 90 seconds each time you select that input.
  18. The lead from the head unit for reverse camera is hooked up to reverse wire from the vehicle wiring harness. I had to search and find which wire it was, found it and connected it to the head unit reverse wire. Make sure the reverse camera RCA is hooked up to brown RCA on head unit. On mine, the reverse wire from the head unit is violet/white. It is hooked up to reverse wire in vehicle. Camera is powered at all times by ignition switched power. When Camera view is on you can view at anytime, with reverse setting on, camera view only comes on when in reverse. It would really help you if you went
  19. I wonder if this is only on the sxv300, never have had this happen with the sxv200.
  20. Man, a sub makes all the difference. Glad you got your system tweaked.
  21. most cameras have their own backup lines and some can be removed by cutting a wire(crimestopper cameras usually have this option), otherwise the head units own backup lines can be disabled, enabled and adjusted. The camera i have installed right now the lines are there and cannot be removed, so i just disable the Pioneer ones.
  22. I was curious about this also, I use the screen with the EQ bars and they go with the music. would be cool if you could use an .avi or .gif to show animation.
  23. I love reading this thread, keep up the good work. Wish I knew just a little of what you guys are saying. Cant wait for the outcome.
  24. I do no see anywhere in the manual where the limit is combined. The SSD and the SDcard just have the exact same limits, The head unit only uses 1 input at a time and does not read them both at the same time. No matter which 1 you use, if you put 15000 files on it, just expect it to take up to 2 minutes to read, each time you start the vehicle or answer a BT phone call. My 256 SDcard with 200+ ripped DVDs takes maybe 10 seconds, my 256gb SSD with 15000 files will take up to 2 minutes. From what I understand, the head unit reads the device and stores info in memory or writes it on the drive(not
  25. The only setting that pertains to the rear view camera, is the Rear View Camera "On or Off". How do you have your rear view camera wired? I had mine powered on by the reverse light, but changed it. Now it is powered on using switchable power(only when ignition is on). The reverse lead from the head unit is connected to the reverse wire in the OEM harness. The rear view camera supersedes all other inputs when the head unit gets a reverse signal, it will even come on before the head unit boots up, if you start the car and put in reverse before head unit even boots. This way of wiring also allows
