  1. Cool man. I am probably going to do that tomorrow after they install the unit. I did the mute wire bypass too, and I'm going to tell them to ground it anyway with the parking brake wire. I figure can't go wrong doing it both ways right? LOL. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere if your unit has the blue dot on the box (mine does) that it already has the latest firmware update. If it's like the Z2 which I had before, it wouldn't update the firmware if the version on the unit was the one you were trying to "update" to.
  2. How big does the image need to be when we save it in Photoshop? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.
  3. I agree this would be nice. I am getting mine installed on Saturday so once that is done, I will start getting up to speed on everything and making a custom file that has everything everyone wants. I have a lot of studying to do first...I just really started looking at all this because I sold my Z2 the other day.
  4. OK Mercury, so you booted into test mode with test.zip, went to the appropriate directory and backed up your data.zip file onto the SD card, modified it, and replaced the original data.zip on the unit with your modifed one?
  5. Can anyone confirm that since my unit has the blue dot, it is already updated, and will it accept my modified update file that is inserted into the Pioneer update?

OK, I veified this does work, however nothing works for me except the main menu. When I click the WHERE TO it just sits there on the warning screen then eventually closes back to Windows CE.
  7. I don't have the unit yet, so here's what I did. I was able to download the update from Pioneer, checked that out, and located the pioneer.ini file and changed the value to 256.0 So I should be able to put that whole modified update on an SD card and upload it to the NAV with the modified ini file, correct? If the unit I get already has the latest on it, will this still replace everything and update?
  8. Well I purchased my old AVIC Z2 from an internet store on EBAY and it wasn't supposed to have a warranty, but guess what. IT DID. The only thing Pioneer goes by is the serial number, and that tells them when it was manufactured. They repaired mine for free.
  9. I'm assuming this has nothing to do with the Mercedes CLK55, but either way the bypass still works with the VSS wire connected.
  10. Here is the CANBUS to VSS Adapter http://www.soundgate.com/index.php?requ ... goryid=217 http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?p ... =20&page=1
  11. I have the exact same car. The problem is the VSS is digital. Someone makes an adapter for it, but it's not worth the money. I've had mine installed for a year without VSS attached and it works fine.
  12. Mine came back from being flashed about 3 days ago by Pioneer Service. Platform 2.000500 GPS 1.200000 HDD 2.40000
  13. OK, I I will clarify all this. When I did the FLASH for the Bypass update, I never hard reset my unit. Last week I did the wiring for the bypass and did the hard reset, and the unit wouldn't boot past the splash screen. It was still under warranty, so I sent it back to Pioneer. They updated the firmware and returned it in like 2 days. Here is what I have on mine. Platform 2.000500 GPS 1.200000 HDD 2.40000 THERE IS NO NEWER FIRMWARE.
  14. How does it know I'm moving if the speed pulse isn't connected, is it the GPS that does it?
  15. Hey guys. I flashed the Z2 with that unlock software, and I need to know if this is normal. I haven't done any wiring changes whatsoever, but the locked features now work anytime the car is in motion as long as the EBRAKE is on. I can barely push the ebrake in so it just clicks and then all the features unlock. So is this normal? Do I just need to ground the ebrake wire now??? Speed pulse has never been connected. I was told it is digital on the Mercedes and you need some expensive converter to make it work.
  16. So I flashed the new software and all the locked features work while in motion and while the parking brake is on. Now I know for a fact the lockout wiring wasn't done. If I ground my EBRAKE is that all I need to do now??? I literally can be doing 70mph and barely put on the ebrake and everything works.
  17. Did everything on that list, nothing works.
  18. OK I've read every single thread, every single way to do this, tried every piece of CD Recording software, Windows, Nero, Roxio, and put a pictures folder on that CDR and tried it with and without 100mb worth of junk files, and nothing and I repeat NOTHING works. The IMPORT FROM DISK icon is always grayed out no mater what is in the CDR Drive. It recognizes that there is a CDROM in the drive but that NEVER is selectable and I went through 10 CDR's trying to get it to work. Followed instructions exactly. What gives>>?????
  19. This doesn't work, period. I consider myself very knowledgeable with all CDR burning programs and I ruined 10 CDR's using everything from Windows, Roxio, to Nero and this simply doens't work and it's fu*king annoying. I did EXACTLY what the guy said up there and the import from disc is still greyed out no matter what.
  20. What the hell, this is retarded I tried everything nothing works.
