I think Apple has too many irons in the fire. They are releasing ios8, getting into the health market, getting into home automation/security, releasing iPhone6, and already speculating about the new ipads. So I wouldn't count on CarPlay anytime soon. Hopefully I am wrong.

If apple doesn't abandon it all together.

I don't understand why you would want to mute the microphone when making a call. How would the party on the other end hear you? If you mean to mute the whole call so nobody else in the car can hear it, you can do that by clicking the Private Mode button on the screen once the call is made. Then you have to use your phone instead of the HU. Phil

They could still release the product since it is basically finished, and being shipped pre-installed on cars now. The apps that are created later by third party developers would just be added to the program when they are available. I am guessing they will have a separate App Store section, just for CarPlay. I am again guessing that CarPlay will only come with the apple standard apps and we will have to purchase the third party apps. Just speculation Phil

I saw a few notices about Apple anouncing the new iPhone Sept 9th, but no mention of Car Play. I have my doubts about it being released anytime soon. Phil

I have the 7000, and I have not found anyway to use voice commands for navigation. This is something it should have in the days of hands free driving. But maybe in a future upgrade? You should be able to use Siri and Apple Maps for voice Nav once CarPlay has arrived. But I am not a big fan of Apple Maps, unless they really made some improvements.

I would think that will be something that Pioneer will handle. And probably not until AVICSYNC is ever released. Phil

I think you have to click on Saved Locations, when that opens up, click on the menu icon on the right of the screen and the edit option should be in there. Phil

I am also waiting for CarPlay to arrive. I am curious though what CarPlay will do that I already can do without it? I can have siri read my messages and I can respond to them. I can set alerts/events by using siri. I can have siri read my email. I have hands free calling. I have Nav. I can listen to music from my phone/ipod. I guess maybe if they add more apps, which I guess they already have, MLB and Podcasts. Unless they have improved their Map app, I would rather use Pioneer Nav. Phil

I also downloaded it and validated it. What is the difference between this and the regular AppRadio? I did notice when I went into settings that AvicSync is in text under the two car icon. Maybe it was before. I never noticed it. Does AppRadio Live work over Bluetooth? I did not notice it under the settings for compatible apps.

I noticed mine is greyed out when the announcer is talking, (no songs playing).

I have the problem sometimes on the 7000. I have to touch the button sometimes 4 or 5 times. Also, sometimes the next screen just takes awhile to appear.

You could check you settings. There is a "Heading Up" and a "North Up" setting. Heading Up always has the car icon going towards the top of the screen. North Up always has North at the top of the screen. So if you are traveling south, the car icon will be going toward the bottom of the screen. The 3D setting is always a Heading Up setting. Not sure if this is your problem or not.
