Jo-Di's Radio Repair 53 Newfield Ave Hartford, CT 06106 (860) 953-0411 this place fixed mine twice, first the touch screen stopped working, they put in a new one for $100.00, perfect like brand new. 1/2 the cost of pioneer. the second time they fixed it 6 months later, was because i decided since my car wouldn't start it might be a good idea to boost it with a 200amp battery booster, bad idea in retrospect, blew out the illumination like you are describing, fixed it for $90.00 this time. send it in to them, get an estimate, they will only charge you for return shipping like $20.00 i

repair center i sent it to couldn't replicate the problem , so they did n't fix it, try sending yours to pioneer and let me know how u make out, sorry.

they told me the same thing about 6months ago, and i found this guy on e bay and he replaced the touch panel on my wife's avic d1 for 1/2 price $95.00 shipping included, if were you i would wait till monday when the guy calls me to tell me what the problem is and how much to fix it. $200.00 is pioneer flat rate to fix anything, it could be a stuck button and they want $200.00, what a rip off!! hang tight for a few more days and i will let you know how i make out and you can send you unit to the same people.

does any one know how to hack the factory radio in a 2008 f-250 pickup, i need to hook up a backup camera to the nav-radio, i know it can be done, i am wondering if anyone knows how or where i can find out how to accomplish this. thanks

i found a guy on ebay that works on the avics & other radios, he fixed my touch screen on my D1, he replaced it, i just installed it and it is like brand new out of the box!!! and for like half of what pioneer wants, for $95.00 cover the repair and shipping back to me. he got it wed morning ups , repaired it and by wed afternoon it was boxed and on its way back to me. i live in ny, his place is in ct, only a 2 hour drive from me but still great service, excellent communication and fast turn around time. just search on ebay for "pioneer touch screen repair", thats how i found him, or pm me.

i have a d1 with upgraded softwre the cndv-70mtp discs, it seems like when i up graded to these discs the calibration went off. i tried to get into the serv ice menu and recalibrate and it still is a bit off, i even used a stylus so my wide finger isnt the problem, its only off on the right side of the screen the left and middle are fine. any good sujjestions are appretiated.

no you dont glue the unit and plug together i mean you drop some hot glue into the back of the plug where the pins slide into the grooves, of the i pod cable

i have had a similar problem with an ipod, the cable is faulty or there are loose pins in it, on the one i had i reset the loose pins and then dropped in a little hot glue to keep them all steady.problem solved!!

does anyone know if the d3 rca harness is identical to the d2 rca harness, or do you know where i can jut a pinout diagram of both to compare?

are you looking for an installation or something else?

i may have posted this before but, i have installed at least a dozen avic d's in the past few years, on the d3's, if you do not want to move that wire you can get a DEI antenna wire from an alarm or remote start system with the antenna harness and cut it open from the black plug side closeset to the antenna and take any of the three wires out with the pin, the pin in that harness fits EXACTLY in to that open slot for the bypass.

i have searched alredy on the forum and cannot find the answer, so could someone who knows please answer me, if there is a service menu on the D1 , and how to access it so that i may be able to calibrate the touch screen, if is possible on the N1 why not the D1? any and all information I would be grateful for.

for any one who want to do a d3 bypass without moving the mute wire, if you have any spare dei parts, the wire used for the antenna plug on the alarm syatems, on the black plug(the windshield side of the antenna plug) remove one of those ping, and they fit in perfectly into the d3 rca harness.

disconnect the siruis unit and inspect all of the din cables its probably a bad pin in one of the harnesses make sure none are bent, i had a simliar problem on an ipod cable with the d3 no right side speakers, i found the loose pin, re set it and hot glue it back into place.

Speed Sense purple behind the glove box Located in a 28 pin connector at the ECM behind the glove box. there are five plugs in the ecm, the ONLY 28 PIN PLUG is to the right of the center plug, depending on which way is up but count the slots, one plug has 28 pins the other only 24.

the reverse light wire is in the rear view mirror harness on the wind shield, you know the mirror that you look at while backing up? that is where it is in the front of the truck, also usually they can be found in the driver side kick panel, in that harness that runs to the rear of the vehicle.

Reverse Light purple/black + automatic day/night mirror , if you look at my first response this info was on there too

there is 2 or 3 plugs behind the radio, one 16 pin plug is the main harness, one 20 pin plug, in the 20 pin plug pin 9 is the grey and black wire, that is the speed signsl wire, if you looked behind the radio it will be the only grey/black wire behind the radio in all of the plugs.

Speed Sense gray/black cruise control module The cruise control module is on the driver side fender. Also found in the radio harness on some models.
