  1. Just to add, if you're looking for lightening cables, Amazon Basic cables are a good value. I have a standard USB extension run to a cubby in my car, and then I plug in a little 3 inch Amazon Basic's cable to reduce clutter. Works great!
  2. I didn't notice any new issues, but I was really only listening for the pop and didn't go for a drive, only messed with it in the garage. I'll update if I notice something amiss.
  3. Today's update for my NEX8000 fixed the popping issue!
  4. The 1.08 update fixed the pop for me!
  5. Everyone experiencing this issue, Pioneer called me today in response to a voicemail I had left with a supervisor in customer support. He was very understanding of my (and everyone experiencing this issue's) frustration. He says they have now been able to reproduce the issue themselves, it is firmware related, although they haven't pinned down the exact cause. They believe it is only effecting those who use external amplifiers, and they are working to fix the issue. He also said that sending the unit in would not be productive, the rep that asked me to do that was just following protocol, and
  6. I have the popping issue and am using an external amp. I brought that up to Pioneer tech support and they dismissed that having anything to do with it because it doesn't happen on SiriusXM or other sources... but I don't think it should be discounted. If you have updated and are having this issue or other issues, you can disable CarPlay under Smartphone Settings on the radio. This eliminates the pop, but returns you to pre update functionality.
  7. If you disable CarPlay in Smartphone Settings on the radio, the pop goes away when listening to music through iPhone sources (local music, pandora app, etc.) If you can't stand the pop like me, at least we have the ability to return to pre-CarPlay functionality of the radio.
  8. With any luck this is on Apple's end. At least when they break things they usually fix them sooner or later.
  9. I agree, I don't plan on sending in the unit. I'm afraid though that because not everyone is experiencing the issue Pioneer may never get around to fixing it.
  10. A "me too" for this issue. I called Pioneer yesterday. I spent a long time on the phone going through every possible combination of resets. Pioneer claims they "have not heard of this issue." They want me to send the unit to them "for repair." This means driving around with a hole in my dashboard for an undetermined amount of time. I am not happy about this. They should be able to patch this with a firmware update. Goes without saying, but if you are experiencing this problem, call Pioneer support and tell them to fix this. I left a voicemail with the supervisor to see if they could just swap
