  1. If you use the NaviExtra's tool box, you can buy maps. You'd need that anyway to download them.
  2. Still showing 2016 Q2 Maps as the latest version on NaviExtras.
  3. Can't speak to App Radio as I don't use that feature on my 6000. You can listen to HD Radio when using the Apple CarPlay Maps.
  4. Pioneer site still showing 1.05. Guessing it's been updated at the factory and I'm sure the 1.07 will be published on their website soon.
  5. Lucky. I always start my car when I do updates. Don't want something like that happening!
  6. Installed the 1.14 firmware and 03.41.12 BT update on my 6000. Took about 12 mins using USB1. No issues other than I had to "forget" the AVIC from my Bluetooth settings on my phone in order to get it to re-pair with the unit.
  7. Have you tried doing a hard reset? You were updating to 1.09?
  8. Looks like update 1.14 for all X000 units is now available on Pioneer's website.
  9. Pioneer just announced via a Facebook post that they are going to be releasing new firmware for NEX units. They did not specify which units. Just thought I would pass it along.
  10. Looks like it came out on 7/22 to fix: - Improve the boot time for playback from Pandora source - Fix Artwork and Metadata for Pandora source - Minor bug fixes Wonder if we will see an update for the X100 & X000 series products?
  11. Just drove from Atlanta to Albany, NY using the navi connected with AVICSYNC. Did a great job navigating around traffic issues and rerouting us. Even double checked the logic using Waze on my phone, and the directions were spot on. Nice to have the unit do the navigating and completely freeing my phone. Also was able to switch quickly to Carplay to do some local routing using Apple Maps. Overall my 6000 has continued to perform and impress.

    2015 Q4 Maps

    Now Available on NaviExtras
  13. Does anyone know where I can turn off this annoying announcement? I don't want to turn off traffic, but I don't need the warning every time traffic slows down up ahead. I have been through most of the menus, yet it still continues! Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Not quite sure what you are asking, but I would install the updates you currently have now on your USB drive using the SyncTool. Once those are installed, then make sure everything is deleted off the USB and re-run Sync from your 8100. Then go back to your computer and purchase the 2015 Q3 Map update. Then install the new maps on the 8100 via the SyncTool. I wouldn't play around with updates on these units. Too many folks "do their own thing" or don't follow the update instructions and brick their unit. Hope that helps!

Make sure you have subscribed to the "Connected Services". The first year should be free or you may have to pay for a 1 year or 30 day subscription. The subscriptions can be found in the Shop Menu on the phone app.
  16. I have the 9.18.28.610126 version, so basically the 2015 Q2 one. Other commentary to note, is that it now uses basic landmarks to assist with the turns as well. For example the new version will tell you on the screen and verbally to make a "right just before the CVS Pharmacy". That is different from the earlier version. Also the 3D is pretty cool when you enter a major city.
  17. Going from 2013 Q2 to 2015 Q2 was a huge improvement in graphics and overall mapping quality. Was worth the update. My next update wont be until 2017 Q2 comes out. Overall, Im happy with the maps and head-unit. Its nice not to have to rely on my phone for my maps. Especially if Im changing music or if I get a phone call. Phone call always seems to happen right when Im at a critical turn-off during my drive and then I miss the exit. Ha.
  18. New maps available on Naviextras.
  19. What map version do you have? I updated to the 2015 Q2, and they are way better than the older versions. Agree the map functionality and zoom out could be better, but its not a lot different than any of the other systems out there. What other in-car nav system works better? Even trying to scroll out on Waze, Garmin, Google Maps, or Apple Maps is painful.
  20. You could buy one of those MicroSD adapters that allows you to use it as a USB drive. Im not sure if you can use the nav sync tool on the HU to communicate with the MicroSD. You can try. I don't understand why you didnt use the USB extension cord from USB1 in your HU? You are missing out on the ability to update the unit, connect an ipod, use carplay, ect..ect.. It is worth pulling the HU, plugging in the extension cord, and running it to your glove box. What did you do with the USB extension cord that was provided when you bought your 5000NEX? http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-CD-U150E-1-
  21. You don't directly connect your computer to the HU. You use a USB drive that transfers info from the HU to the computer and then from the computer to the HU. Go to the Naviextras website and sign up for an account and download the toolbox software to your computer. They have very clear instructions on how to do this. Here is the link for you: https://pioneer.naviextras.com/shop/portal/p2howto-guide?guide=Toolbox Also, I would delete AVICSYNC off your phone. I would then try and get the 5000 to log onto the maps. Might be a hang up with that feature which is what the 1.11 update w
  22. Does your unit flash the "parking wire not grounded" warning? If you read the bypass sticky thread on this forum, I believe you do have to have the parking wire grounded. The whole point of the software bypass is to override that grounding. So I would recommend getting your unit properly grounded prior to doing the update.
  23. Make sure you downloaded the right update for your model and that when you transfer it to the USB its the only folder on the stick. Then print out and follow the directions to the letter. Good Luck.
  24. Actually the AVICSYNC features are pretty cool. The parking spot feature is nice when you get into a major city area. I have let my AVICSYNC traffic expire as my 6000NEX has the built in Clear Channel Traffic, which works just fine for me. I also updated my maps to 2015 Q2, and that has been a great upgrade vs the old 2013 Q2. All the POIs are current, and the newer map graphics are nicer. Overall, happy with the built in Nav, but I agree it is cumbersome to try and type in a new destination while driving. Be nice if you could use AVICSYNC to coordinate with Siri or AA to verbally ask for
  25. The vehicle trouble codes would be worth upgrading for sure. Didn't know these headunits could do that.
