  1. does it show the street names on the bottom when you are driving around in an AV setting? Have you tried starting Nav after driving the car a bit vs fresh off of boot up? Might be the AVICSYNC app on your phone causing problems? Delete the app and see if makes a difference.
  2. I believe they are under the ADVANCED menu labeled "other". You can install/uninstall the voices there. Hope you figure it out. GL
  3. Did you update your maps? You might have accidentally uninstalled the file during the Naviextras update. I would sync the Nav to a USB and use the Naviextras Toolbox to make sure that speech file is added to the unit. Only thing I can think as to why that TTS file/voice disappeared after you did an update. Just updating the firmware shouldn't have effected the Nav files. If you updated the Nav files separately using the Naviextras tool. Then that might explain it.
  4. There has been a couple of firmware updates since August. Your unit should be at 1.05 version. Go to Pioneer website, find the 8100 page to get the latest version. That might help the issue.
  5. Also it will effect the ASL (Automatic Sound Levelizer) feature, which uses the VSS wire to determine whether or not to adjust the sound up or down depending on how fast the car is going. VSS wire connection also helps keep the Nav accurate when GPS signal is lost (ie. Tunnels, cities with lots of tall buildings, etc) and also gives slightly more accurate turn notifications. Otherwise, using the simple hybrid mode is fine for most day-to-day navigation needs.
  6. Wonder why mine took so long? Maybe because I went from 2013 Q2 to 2105 Q2? There were at least 4 files per State. Oh well. Mine is updated too. Glad it went smoothly for you.
  7. No it doesn't. You just need an SD or USB drive inserted and you can play mixtrax off of that once the music is playing. Mixtrax software is installed in the headunit.
  8. You will have to update the SiriusXM tuner, but the steering wheel harness should be compatible. When I went from a 7010BT to my 6000NEX, that's what the installer did. Saved me a few bucks. Also you should install the new BT mic vs using the old one.
  9. Welcome. I still can't get the BPM feature to work either. Not sure why?
  10. Dude that 2015 Q2 map download from Naviextras took 4 hours. You might want to get that rolling. Ha. Only took 8-10 mins to upload to the Head-unit.
  11. Nice Don. Sounds like you got a good deal on the 6100. Can't argue with your math. I agree HD Radio is cooler than I thought. Being in LA doesn't hurt for digital channel selection either.
  12. Just updated all my maps to 2015 Q2. Download process took almost 4 hours, and I have a fast internet connection! Transferring to the head-unit only took 8-10mins. Nav Sync tool works great. No issues and maps are updated from 2013 Q2 versions.
  13. You mean the 6200? I love my 6000. Don't use the HDMI input, but HD radio & traffic tuner work well. Where in SoCal did you move? I grew up in the San Fernando Valley.
  14. There is also a routing update patch that is free. Have you synced your unit with Naviextras and seen if there are any free updates available? Might help the routing problem. The new AVICSYNC system uses the Tom Tom traffic system (another subscription but free 30 day trial) vs the Clear Channel Total Traffic system that is hardwired into the unit. I've found that routes much better as it uses your phone to keep up with the traffic conditions better. I love Waze. Can't beat peer reviewed real time info. If that ever became a CarPlay featured app. I would use it ALOT more that the Po
  15. No. The Naviextras tool will just update your Canada map to the 2015 Q2 version. Your USA maps will stay at the 2013 versions.
  16. We use the Nav all the time. Works great. Have you updated your maps? Also new AVICSYNC app makes it easier to figure out routes and then just pull them into the headunit.
  17. How long did it take to upload to the headunit?

    2015 Q2 Maps

Has anyone updated their unit to the new 2015 Q2 maps via Naviextras? Just curious if its worth the $$. Im running 2013 Q2 on my 6000NEX. I was going to wait until the 2016 ones come out, but that won't be until end of the year. I see the new 2015 Q2 ones come with 3D effects for certain cities.
  19. As more and more factory radios incorporate Andriod Auto & CarPlay in their offering, that competiton will be stiffer. They need to stay 10-steps ahead of the factory curve for their flagship aftermarket units.
  20. Hopefully it doesn't require Pioneer to also facilitate firmware updates. Has to be a nightmare for the radio manufacturers to try and keep their products updated with iPhone and Android advances. How many times has the firmware on the iPhone been updated this past year alone? Thanks for the update danny!
  21. As long at it plugs into a standard AUX jack, then yes it will work.

    AVICSYNC manual

Works on my iPhone 6 running 9.2. Firing the team would just delay the next update. Ha
  24. So I put some songs on a usb drive and plugged it into USB1 on my 6000NEX. I formatted the USB FAT32 and the music files were mpeg-4. Selected USB and the music started playing. Was able to then click on the Mixtrax button and Mixtrax started up. The BPM feature isn't working as shown in the video. Not sure if that's because of my USB drive or what? Overall it worked exactly like the Pioneer video above. Im not sure why its not working on your 6100NEX? Maybe the USB has to be FAT32 formatted?
